I understand there’s something to that but the WHO would know and be involved if there were cases in the other Chinese cities. It just seems fishy that ten or more cities around China with 15+ million people IN EACH CITY don’t have any cases but Europe and North America are getting hammered.

China had a nice long enforced lock down very early in their cities. Americans cant adjust to any changes quickly. They are invincible.


EU cant take care of its members. Italy has Russia flying in supplies and specialized teams who are disinfecting buildings, parking lots, public transit and putting up field hospitals. EU is a joke. This is going to create even more ultra Nationalists in Europe.

So let's get this straight:

You believe that IF: Teams got a compliance buyout that the Flames would clear cap space by buying out Lucic's $5.25m (I assume this is who you would choose), and that this would give them enough room to attract Hall to Calgary (because that's where he REALLY wants to play). And that this signing would trigger huge increases in jersey sales, ticket sales and advertising sales in Calgary, which would increase league revenues in a significant way? That Hall jerseys would outsell Tavares, Crosby, Fleurie?

Calgary is a tiny market. One where the local economy is taking a beating right now. A compliance buyout isn't changing anything in that city.

It wouldn’t have to outsell other markets sales to be a significant improvement/boost to revenue. Hall jerseys would be one of the highest sellers in the league, one of the first in alberta since mcjesus landed. But with regards to and increase, yes he wpuld absolutely create that.

Hall ain't playing in Canada again, gauaranteed, if he goes anywhere it'll be where he has a guaranteed shot at winning the Cup. I'd say he goes to either Tampa, Washington or St. Louis, all of whom are contenders and have/can clear enough cap room for him.

I love China, so much history, the beds are terrible though. Mattress’s are a half inch thick on plywood, impossible to sleep, unless you’re in some posh hotel. I worked in remote areas so I got to experience the real China.

What I'm saying, is don't consider the "Madden and a 2nd" when deciding to re-sign Toffoli. If the price to get him under contract is too high, in either dollars or term, then don't do the deal just because you paid to get him. If, on the other hand, you can get him under contract for a number you like, then I'm all for it.
