Here's a fantastic quote:
TSN’s Director of Scouting Craig Button said that in Barabanov, the Leafs would have a player who "works, has desire, and competes pretty well." Button sees him in the same vein as former Maple Leafs' forward Dmytro Timashov, who was a rotating healthy scratch on the team’s fourth line for 39 games this season before being placed on waivers and subsequently claimed by Detroit.

Greeeeeeeaaaaaaat....so he's a player who is similar to a guy who couldn't get in the line-up.
Worst part is, we'll still be under lockdown - we won't get a parade. |

Isn’t that the idea? Fill up up with rotatable, cheap third and fourth liners. |

BTW Dreger is claiming the cap will drop 30%. That is less likley than Marner offersheets.
NHLPA, Gms, owners will never, ever let that happen. He's saying this to get Leaf fans and haters interested. |

Yet some Leaf fans will tout the strength of each player and over value all of them instead of seeing these prospects for what they are which is average. - islansjet
which prospects are average?
Every team has a few good prospects, some more than others. The Leafs prospect group as a whole is definitely pretty thin. But they've got 2 very good D prospects (and really the only other A list guy is Robertson, off the top of my head).
This shouldn't be surprising, given the number, and caliber, of players graduated. It's actually a pretty good situation that the Leafs two top prospects are both in their biggest area of need.
Where their prospects are as a group, is not surprising at all. They've got the best collection of under 25 or 26 players, in the league. But this is how teams get themselves in trouble. They have to start restocking the cupboards, because in 3 or 4 years, they could need prospects much more than they need them now. |

I think the last 2 drafts look fantastic for the Leafs given where they're picked. You think Sandin and robertson are overrated? - RogerRoeper
It's posts like this that make nobody take you seriously. 2 players, too early to really know what we have, in 2 entire drafts, and you're blowing it up and saying he's knocked it out of the park. That's silly. 2 players in 2 drafts is not knocking out of the park. |

Nope. Dubas traded away the 2015 pick to move down and get two seconds and a third. Missed out on Konecny. Got Dermott, Bracco and Dzierkals instead. Fail.
Traded the 2018 pick to move down 4 spots and pick up an extra 3rd.
Traded the 2019 pick for Muzzin.
Traded the 2020 pick to dump Marleau.
So fun watching Dubas destroy the roster... - Kooleus
I, for one, am very impressed he engineered a trade in 2015, 3 years before he was GM. |

Any asset you get for free, regardless of what it's worth, you can't complain about, because it's still a free asset.

Im fine with him losing power from a hospital bed, with tubes coming out of his face.
I wonder what would happen to the rest of the Trump Crime Syndicate if Pence became Pres. He’d probably fire them all and install his own kids. - Arctic_AARDVARK
You should be ashamed. This is honestly the most disgusting and despicable comment I ever read here. You just wished that a fellow human being becomes infected with a deadly virus. Give your head a shake. |

in fairness he also wished him good hospital service. And quite frankly, that's more than most the world wishes for him. |
