Same response you had when Tom Wilson signed at basically 5X$5m. I'm sure neither the Caps nor their fans are upset about it.

In all fairness, when you have a team as loaded with talent as the Capitals do, if you have the cap room, you can afford to do that. Tom Wilson at 5 x 25 here does not make this team a playoff team and becomes a boat anchor.

Sorry, but I disagree. If we had Wilson we're not getting beat up in England, not losing guys to bad hits and not trading for Frolik or Simmonds.

Even if that's all true, it still doesn't add enough to the win column to make this a playoff team.

No way to ever know, but I disagree.

Edit:
Heck, trading Okposo for Lucic would have gotten closer.

Having Tom Wilson has deterred no one from doing anything. It’s the biggest false narrative in the NHL that having some tough guy prevents dirty hits

Boston beat Toronto last year because Rask outplayed Andersen from games 5-7 and played at a Conn Smythe level the rest of the way through.

It's a ridiculous contract for a borderline 2nd line player that has impulse control issues.

So would u pair him with Montour or Jokiharju then?
He’s LH, & with all the righties we aren’t moving Dahlin to that side

I wouldn’t mind the RH version of him to pair with Dahlin
Josh Manson? Or has he dropped off too much?
Or was it just that the Ducks are pretty bad lately?
