Hmm

My intention wasn’t to paint them as dumb, or sheep. More so to suggest that one of the biggest reasons they are where they are right now is that their leadership failed them. The people with access to the most available information down played the situation. Reassured the public that there was nothing to be concerned about. Go about your business.

While severe (I’m out of a job) I applaud the response here in BC for taking steps quickly to get ahead of the situation.

Each state, like each province, has/had the ability to react to what was happening independently, like we did here in BC. I don’t recall waiting for a federal response before our provincial government reacted.

Everyone always jumps on the federal government but much more can be done before they get involved.

Most of it's victims ( not all ) weigh about 85 lbs.

Hockey players and NBA players have caught it also. I read today that someone in the lower States said it is mostly black.

There are some real stupid comments going around and my theory is no one is safe. It has no particular liking for the fat and juicy ones or skin color does not matter and probably hair color does not matter either.

Stay inside , wash your hands and hope for the best.

you're right that the virus doesn't discriminate between colour/size/etc., there has been shown a higher death rate amongst obese people. that just puts them in the same "vulnerable" category as the elderly, health compromised.

as i saw it explained on tv by a doctor, the breathing for an obese person is already compromised (to an extent). a common symptom of the virus is difficulty breathing and that combination makes treatment (ventilators) even harder.

and the obesity numbers in louisiana also help explain why that state has a higher death rate than ny.

Of course the elderly are most at risk, I was just pointing out two other contributors to the issues with death rate from the virus.

I think it was Golfing or Vintage that said the corridor of traffic at Que and Ont is the main contributor. Just like a snowball rolling downhill it will get bigger and do more damage .

I am thankful for BC following instructions mostly and keeping our numbers respectable.

On a (slightly) less depressing note, here’s an interesting take on sports leagues and the curse of the city of Toronto.

As a general thought, from my experience, no, we as a whole generally don’t. My sample size appears to be much larger than yours though lol...jk!

Personally I believe in policies on both sides and I’ve voted for both Canadian major parties. Truth be told, despite me being pro industry, I wanted no part of Andrew Scheer leading this country and I think Trudeau is in over his head, thus I voted Green last election.

Sure, absolutely, each state governor/representative is also culpable. But, the president has said publicly (paraphrasing) that he isn’t going to pick up the phone to call or help people who weren’t nice to him. He penalized the people of NY State because to him, Cuomo is a d!ck.

Which is why, with an autoimmune disease, I stay at home in total fear.

I went to Walmart yesterday, only the third time I’ve went out other than to walk the dog, and I found myself being rightfully very paranoid about what I touched and how close everyone was to me. I didn’t even go into the store, I just went to customer service to pay for some bags of soil. My wife gave me a bottle of hand sanitizer which I carried in my pocket and I was careful not to touch anything I didn’t have to.

When the federal government is out there denying what's happening despite many states sounding the alarm it's counter-productive.

Calling it a democratic hoax politicizes it.

He should have at least told people to be careful.......nope, the flu kills X amount of people per year.

Don't try to absolve Trump of his very large part in this mess, it just makes you seem really stupid.

he’s such a complete moron, it’s funny and sad all at the same time. America needs a younger educated, well spoken man or woman like Barack Obama. He wasn’t perfect but he was what the country needed. I’ve said this before, his wife would make a great President, even though she hates white people, according to the secret service.

Of course, the federal government dismissed it at first, some of the things said by known people was crazy, however, it never lies at one person’s feet. That’s all I’m saying.

To be fair, he's ultimately at fault for firing anyone who might talk him down from his whims, so everyone who advises him is always telling him "YES!" instead of maybe saying "Well, I don't know Boss, maybe telling people it's just a flu is a bad idea..."

I wish the Leafs, Raptors and Blue Jays all took one charter flight and it crashed so I didn’t have to listen to another Toronto sports story.

I don’t really wish that, I just said it for dramatic effect.

I agree with the sentiment but maybe not a plane crash.

My top sports story this morning is "The 5 Departures That Stung The Leafs The Most"

Ok, maybe a plane crash .

I don’t believe that at all, at least not in America. They are born and learn from a very young age that they’re free and powerful and they can do whatever the fuk they want. You’ll always have sheep but I don’t think they’re as dumb as you’re making them out to be.
