Any word on Norris?
Brown appears to being passed on the depth chart.

I assume he is speaking of the article on the Athletic. No Norris mentioned for some reason. The Brown write up was interesting. Sounds like it's in his best interest to stay in the AHL full time for a year. Not a great progression.

AGAIN, another year in the AHL? That's crazy. To be honest, how many top 2 centers (50 points minimum a year) drafted 4 years out in round 1, and play another year in junior?

I had the same thought. I still think he can be an impactful player in the NHL, but that will become more difficult with every stint in the AHL.

Hopefully he proves everyone wrong at camp this year.

With his and White's play, it will put all the more pressure on Norris, and demonstrates a real need for Center depth at the draft.

Let's face it the Brown clan is not impressed with the Sens. He was good enough to play in Ottawa this year but he's not a Smith type of player. He's a puck possession player and Smith likes puck pursuit players. It's in his best interest to get traded.

A key question is: who is Logan Brown and what will he become?
*totals below are final year before being drafted*
Joe Thornton 6'4
Drafted 1999 Round 1, 1st overall
59GP - 41G - 122PTS --- 0.695 goals/game --- 2.07 points/game

4 years after being drafted (spring 2001) Jumbo just finished scoring a career high 37 goals. Obviously the rest is history

Brian Boyle 6'7
Drafted 2003 Round 1, 26th overall
42GP - 19G - 53PTS --- 0.452 goals/game --- 1.262 points/game

4 years after being drafted (spring 2007) he had yet to play 1 NHL game. 8 years after being drafted, Boyle eventually hits 21 goals and becomes a useful NHL player; acutally going to back to back cup finals with NYR & TBL. He also has 805 regular season games and 114 games in the playoffs under his belt. Will Logan Brown play those amount of games in the league?

Nik Antropov 6'6
Drafted 1998 Round 1, 10th overall

4 years after being drafted Antropov actually went back to the AHL after proving for 2 years he belonged in the NHL. Antropov and Boyle are more similar comparisons to where Logan Brown is right now* vs Joe Thronton; and it's not close

Logan Brown 6'6
Drafted 2016 Round 1, 11th overall
59GP - 21G - 74PTS --- 0.356 goals/game --- 1.254 points/game

4 years after being drafted in 2016, Logan Brown has not yet established himself as an NHL player; let alone a legitimate top 6 forward. You can use injuries and development curve but the fat is he is not Joe Thornton. He said JT was his idol and who he wanted to become, but the truth is that unless he has a huge turn around in 2020-2021, he is not a top line center; and neither is Norris or white. 3 years from now, Ottawa needs a center they can say will be a top 10 center in the league; or two that are in the top 30, if they want any chance at competing for a cup

agree with your post but right now Norris and White show much more promise. Brown looks a like a player with a high ceiling that won't hit it

Dorion seems to have bought into Smith's puck pursuit system. I'm worried he's going to draft that type of player. That system is used to make bad teams competitive & does nothing for creative players. I believe the rebuild has been delayed another 3 years with the Smith hire.

15 million people live in Ontario.
4000 corona virus cases.

that means 0.02% of the population has it (in other words, 99.98% doesn't). The Sens are 4 of those cases ! Pretty crazy

Not sure all 4 got it in Ontario though
