my take on this - Trump knows his math:

2020-1917=103
which is indeed over 100 years ago!!

(frank) you first

So something cool. WildEarth Safaris runs two three hour fully interactive safaris a day. I think they operate out of South Africa. I watched a bit of one and they’re pretty cool. They’ve got quite a few crews out in different locations covering different animals.

The first 45 minutes of each safari is reserved for questions from kids and it seems pretty educational.

It’s free. They ask for donations online because the industry is obviously hurting. You need to register first. Anyway, looks like a good way to spend some family time.

I am not a fan of Trump, we spend way too much time and effort on him. I was not a fan of Ford. Ford did a good job today IMO. The business with Trump ordering 3M to not ship masks to Canada reminded me of a police motto : DEEDS SPEAK

We should help the US and other countries as much as we can.

Ford's been okay. But I am wary of the crisis bump leaders get. Standing up there and saying the right things should be the easiest thing they do. A grade 8 class president should be able to do that right now. We're pleasantly surprised when guys who are supposed to be leaders of states can pluck this lowest hanging fruit.

I remember everyone thought Rudy Giuliani was some kind of hero during 9/11. America's mayor. Now we know he's clearly an insane idiot criminal degenerate, like a mentally retarded Nosferatu mob bagman. So we must be mindful of how we want to emotionally hew to someone, anyone, in a crisis, even if they're just doing the job they are given money, power and privilege to do.

We gave to remember clearly what Doug Ford is; he is literally a sentient humanoid turd log. His mother delivered him anally, into the toilet. But from birth he knew how to self-aggrandize and lie. So here we are. Let's not forget this bipedal fecal chunk thought cheap beer was more important than the care of autistic children.

But totally agree, we should be cooperating and helping others as much as possible. Trump's actions about 3M are typically short-sighted. He is so historically inept that he can't even exploit the crisis bump in any meaningful way; that's what an utter sack of poop he is.

I had a coworker yesterday who was having a
bad week say he was going to drive to Pinecrest to lick the doorknobs. Wasn’t sure I should have laughed...on both accounts.

I also read that Sweden has been relatively untouched by disaster and upheaval for a couple hundred years. They reacted differently than their Scandinavian neighbours, who can't say the same. Some in Sweden fear they are about to get a rude awakening.

No telling who’s doing the right thing until some time has passed. With every decision made there is damage made elsewhere, we’ll see.

Except for Trump. I have no (frank)ing clue why that guy says the things he does

You know what's kinda funny?

I guess for my generation, your parents' friends were your parents' friends. There was always a bit of a respectful distance. My parents still have one set of friends who they have been BFFs with since I can remember (I was really close with their son). But to this day, they are still "Mr. and Mrs. XXXXX to me - not Mike and Carol.

That's gone now - my kids' friends call me by my first name.

But this gentleman was just a regular guy (despite him being a titan of industry). He and I would always just shoot the poop about the Leafs, and we did it as equals, despite the fact I could never in my life think of us that way. He sat in my backyard last year at a family party, and we both sucked back beers and watched football like we had gone to high school together.

Sorry, I'm rambling.

He will be missed.

Same Wedgie. To this day, they are still Uncle Ken and Aunt Gale. That is how I knew them growing up and it will always be that way

Great post! I Agree with you - Trump also had an opportunity to listen to scientists and doctors but he chose not to, Ford while it was an easy choice did the right thing. One of the most important facts that I've been anxious to learn is that if someone gets this wretched virus and is cured - is he/she forever immune? Apparently you are indeed immune.

I think they've found antibodies in recovered monkeys and humans so far? But don't know how long immunity lasts yet, obviously since this is new.

I got a bad feeling this is gonna be endemic, like the flu. But, because of what a big deal it is, apparently labs are going all out with the latest science on antivirals and vaccines.

Interesting that the best evolutionary move the virus could make is mutate into a relatively harmless form. Then it can circulate in humans forever because we won't be concerned with it. Like herpes in Doug Ford's mom.

You may be correct, any cured individuals would have antibodies in their system, the question would be how long would they remain. The troubling information released today for me, wasn't the 3000-15000 deaths, rather the 18 -24 month period this pandemic will last according to the model.
