Holy crap. Some one got that social gathering fine in Brampton last night. Up to $100,000 and up to a year in jail. Stupid (frank)ing idiots....

It was a stupid time. I turned 16 in the summer of 1969. One weekend we stole a bottle of whiskey, got drunk and threw up. That was a drag. The next weekend somebody got hold of something called marijuana which nobody had heard of and was much better except for the coughing. The next weekend somebody got hold of something called acid. No throwing up, no coughing. Nobody knew what any of that poop was so we just did it all the time.

It was generally pretty poopty stuff and most of the visuals were based on strobey, speedy effects but you knew you were stoned. It wasn’t mind altering. It wasn’t until moving to the live with my sister in Minnesota and taking some much purer, stuff where you didn’t know you were stoned that I got really (frank)ed over.

Hahahah awesome, man!

I would’ve been like that in 69 too. Apparently acid was far more common back then. Where did you grow up?

Ottawa.

Edit

It was actually pretty (frank)ed up. My nephew and you get brother just reminded me that I was doing acid with them when they were 14. They said it was cool cause it was first time they started listening to Zappa and the Dead. I had forgotten completely. Luckily they didn’t get too badly (frank)ed up. One’s a doctor and the other is a lawyer

Cool. I lived in the glebe for three years, and then on Merivale for a bit.

Tbh, hallucinogenics probably would’ve only helped them become a success. It’s very powerful to experience something like that.

Such a revolutionary time for music. I went through a Neil Young phase. Deep appreciation for that stuff

Bahahaha..

These ones gave me very colourful hallucinations. The best part was when you type words there’s a streak of colours behind the letters as you type them, lol. And it felt like I was in a dome lying in bed.

I'm gonna do it blindfolded with a guide, to take it inside on a vision quest. They say if you want to dissolve into the universe, 5 g in the dark will do it.

This is what drives me nuts.

My wife had to close her salon down because we have to get this pandemic under control. And then you read a story like this.

My wife has to pay $1000s in rent for her salon each month that she must keep closed until this (poop) is all sorted out.

Ffs. People truly are the worst. The sheer arrogance mixed with ignorance and distinct lack of empathy is utterly staggering.

Geniuses. Here in Nova Scotia we are locked down pretty tight. I’ve heard of young people getting busted for driving around with a buddy in the car.

A woman in Halifax was walking in a provincial park by herself and was given a $800 ticket and had her car towed. The parks are closed. No angling allowed either.

And by the time these people have to pay the fines the government will probably write it off. All forgiven.

They saw her car at the park entrance and used canines to track her down. I think they wanted to set an early precedent.

Yeah.. idk..

I had a sense of “this is fun, but it’s not some higher power connecting with me.”

Mushrooms make me super pragmatic. But 5g’s I’m sure you’d reach another level, and the visuals would be unreal. You’ll definitely think you’re connecting with God. I didn’t get the Celtic patterns I usually get, but more like fireworks or paint being splattered against a wall, if that makes sense, lol..

Back in high school we experimented with different things. Ninety percent of us left it behind and got on with life. The other 10 percent are still stuck in the same mindset, you can’t even carry on a conversation with them.

When they’re employed it’s for minimum wage, they don’t drive, and most still live with their parents or boarding houses.

My point is, be careful with that stuff. You might like it too much.

If it’s a municipal bylaw, there’s no criminal record

Oh yeah, I don't even drink these days. I'm talking about a guided psychedelic session with an experienced clinical psychologist in a shamanic context, not burnout partying. It's being used a lot now for depression, addiction, terminal illness anxiety and so on. Very interesting research going on at Johns Hopkins and elsewhere.

A lot of people who do the full guided experience tend to rate it as one of the top 5 most important experiences of their lifetime and go through profound changes in outlook and lifestyle. But set and setting is crucial.

He’s just virtue signalling, because I talk about it. Many, many successful people take mushrooms and smoke weed. No one ever takes mushrooms and goes “wow this is amazing, I gotta do this all the time”

Saw a guy in hip waders in the Humber this morning, I wonder if they'll start picking those guys off. The fish will get a break.

absolutely they would.

They have an effect where they reset your approach to everything. The pragmatic effect. They’ll help you quit lifelong addictions like smoking or drinking, or being cynical etc..

Everyone should do them once in awhile.

Yeah you can't do psychedelics all the time because they stop having an effect. And the few times I did them it never occurred to me to do them again anytime soon. Psychedelics are different from pot, coke, opiates and strong drink.

Crazy results from some of research trials. Like 70% quit rate among smokers after a mushroom trip with that intention. That is absolutely unheard of in smoking addiction. It's going to be a new era of clinical use of lsd and mushrooms to treat mental health.
