What did Vigneault do? Queenie Lundqvist had better numbers under Torts.
- Queenie_5_hole

What did Vigneault do? He won more playoff games. They're both great coaches, but with very different styles.

I'm gonna show you Lundqvist's SV% numbers for Tortorella's 4 seasons, and Vigneault's first 4 seasons (before Lundqvist hit 35+ and became less effective), but I won't tell you which is which:

.926
.920
.922
.920

.921
.923
.929
.926

We're splitting hairs here

My recollection is his save percentage was slightly better under Torts. Vig was a more successful and arguably had a better team.

I’m just saying Henrik was very consistently good regardless of coaches.

Oh if you could live thru all the times the Devils knocked your team out of the playoffs I’m sure you’ll survive this just fine.

You're right and I agree. And you'll agree that on a lesser team with lesser coaches Lundqvist's numbers would have been worse.

I think my point is that in predicting the careers of young goalies like the names we're seeing, the coach/team around them will go a long way. For example, Islanders goalies have benefited and will continue to benefit from Trotz, and a roster of players who seem to work hard and play the right way.

Devils fans are some smart folks. They learned early on being a Rags fan is a losing proposition.

I know plenty a devil fans. Smart is DEFINITELY not a word I’d use to describe them

Wait a second, hold the phone. You’re trying to tell me that after years of you punks saying the only reason the Rangers are good is because of Hank, that we were really only good because of coaching!?

Man, I can’t catch a break with this team

Bruins (home ice for the better record) vs the Blues. Stanley Cup rematch. Who do you think would win?

He might be, but I'm not sure how well KHL stats truly compare to NHL, so we may never know.
- Tonybere

Well poopstirken had very good numbers in the KHL on a star studded team, dominated the AHL and has been really good for the Rags so far. Sorokin has put up video game type stats on rookie mode on a team with less talent and dominates in the playoffs like no player in the league’s history.
