I had to go tick a button to opt in for playoff tickets - the deadline was March 20th.

I totally forgot.

Luckily, they extended it. Or suspended it, I guess.

But they still haven't said a franking word about this year or next year. TBH, I can't blame them. A neighbour works for the NHL - he basically told me they have no idea what's going to happen.

Would love to see hockey and the sooner the better, but I fear this situation is going to drag on much longer than most think. New York being hit hard, LA will be next. To expect this to go away in time for training camp next year might be very optimistic.

Success or not, TML fans are widely known as the VERY BEST fanbase in all of sport, you'd be missing out.

This is going to be fascinating to watch.

I just read an article that quoted some Swedish official with an interesting take: kids are better off in schools - if they were home, they'd probably be interacting with their grandparents more.

- Atomic Wedgie

It’s almost like the world needed a test nation and Sweden drew the short straw. Fascinating indeed.

The Swedes are crazy on this one, the epedemiological science on this is not controversial.

I heard from a top official that we'd all be back in churches by April 12.

It's going to be beautiful.

They’re talking about trying to test county by county age group by age group and granular decisions about opening things up. I don’t see how they have the capacity to do that soon and the bans have been imposed by State Governor’s. Trump can’t override them - I don’t think. Maybe he tries to encourage individual states to open up. One did today. Mississippi I think where they haven’t done any testing and they have no idea what’s hoping to happen.

We'll see how that goes.

Yup.

Neither side of the argument so wrong until they are wrong.

Certainly looks risky but we don’t have the input data to predict long term affects of what we are doing right now. It could be worse.

I hope and think we are doing the right thing...we’ll see.

It will be interesting for sure. It seems like something trump would do. I thought the Swedes were smarter.

I wonder if their health care workers have masks because people haven’t freaked out yet and horded 50 boxes of them.

I do wonder tho, what would happen if the advice was for everyone just to go about their daily lives? We’d build up immunity and it wouldn’t be the end of man.

The effects of everyone not working, and small businesses failing, could potentially be worse than if we went about life as usual. What if big corporations swoop in and that’s the end of small business? I’m not saying it’s a conspiracy, but the giant conglomerates are going to come out of this much better than the little guys.

I think there’s a higher power at play here, but we don’t understand it yet. Too many variables for these type of disasters to not happen on a more frequent basis. What if we get blasted by a massive solar flare, or a super volcano? Then what? Are we going to keep prioritizing corporations? Pass insane funding bills to help the billionaires every time something like this happens? We need to fundamentally change the way we operate as a society, it doesn’t work when things go wrong, and they will continue to go wrong.

Yeah the Bruins start collecting every March for the next season. I’d rather pay in installments because A.) it’s basically like a borderline free loan (you know what I mean) and B.) in case some poop like this happens. I can’t say I’m surprised they’re moving forward with this because the owner is a penny pinching leach from Buffalo, but it’s still a shame really. I really might not renew after next year, but even if I don’t, there’s someone else that will step right up off of the waiting list. I don’t know, it just doesn’t feel good.

If you don’t mind, let me know if you hear anything from the Leafs.

I agree about society in general and corruption and preparedness.

But in terms of infectious diseases there's been a lot of study and modelling around it and it's not mysterious. The Swedes' approach goes against best practices according to the current science.

I thought their mandated "equality of outcome" for jobs/education would make for all the best decisions

You’d be wrong. Income inequality has been growing more in Sweden than almost any other industrialized country.
