Declining team.
That buyout is a rather large one too.
Not sure Dallas can take that in. Might be more feasible to eat salary than a buyout.
Pavelski is a more likely candidate. - dadeadhead
Yeah that could be.

I think the perception of Vesey was hurt/damaged when he spent time on Mittelstadts wing, which wasn't fair to either of them. Not a good fit imo - Michael Ghofrani

Florida is the last team doing a buyout on a high salary guy IMO. |

Yeah he crushed it at 5v5, there'd be no point buying him out now. Someone would give up assets for him. - Michael Ghofrani
Like Buffalo.
Send em Risto and ask for a future 3rd round pick to balance out the larger cap hit and 3 more years on Henrique's contract |

I would think that Cozens and Tage are gonna take spots in your middle 6, so basically we need a stop gap 2C and probably another RW. I would expect atleast 1 compliance buyout and that would be used on Okposo, unless he gets talked into retirement, then I would use it on Hutton, and bring in Greiss or Markstrom short term. Resign Larsson and Girgs and Lazar with the money saved from Okposo. - Buff36
You dont use buyouts on contracts with one year remaining. Waive him, and take the cap relieve of a little over a million for doing so. |

In trying to spur conversation on actual hockey talk:
https://www.capfriendly.c.../armchair-gm/team/1684033
What changes would you make to the team constructed above?
What moves above would you not make?
What moves are unrealistic?
Which signings are unrealistic?
Which signings would you not make?
I'll make tweaks to it based on feedback and see what the final result looks like. - kingcong39

Now the rainman gave me two cures
Then he said, "Jump right in"
The one was Texas medicine
The other was just railroad gin
An' like a fool I mixed them
An' it strangled up my mind
An' now people just get uglier
An' I have no sense of time
Oh, Mama, can this really be the end
To be stuck inside of Mobile
With the Memphis blues again |

Tell me why, this supposedly is gonna be a total buyout, nothing against your cap. |

I agree. I’d buyout Skinner and accept all criticism thrown my way.
I’m sure Okposo’s contract is tradable if Boston can get rid of Backes. Withhold 50% of it and add a sweetener and I’m sure we can rid of ourselves of Okposo. |

I forgot who said it, but someone said (rightly) that Botterill may as well just fire himself if he did that. "Sorry I wasted $72 million. Oops" |

Well, only 2/3rds right? So, $42m of the remaining $63m.
I mean, he could sell Pegula's on the fact he actually saved them 33%!!!
They would probably give Botts a raise and extension. |
