This just up on Global News:

Trump looking to put troops near the Canada US border.
White House pushing for militarization of Canadian border.

Any theories as to why?

- DrunkenCanuck

To stop the dumb fcukers from getting up here.

Trump should build 2 walls....
Mexico should pay for the "south" wall...
Canada should pay for the "north" wall...
And the rest of the world should pay for a fcuking LID.

Lol. Those bastards poop all over my yard down by the water. Annoying as (frank).
A bit dry, but with some salt and chow chow they are tasty.

- DrunkenCanuck

Personally I find them greasy.

I’d eat just about anything, except bats of course..

Overcook them if you find greasy. Then it’s similar to dried out roast beef. Not great, but it works.

That’s why I only buy Hondas.

My last one went to 660,000km’s and I never changed the oil until it got to 30k.. bumholes in AB said I needed a pickup, but I drove Rhonda around Grande Prairie and Red Deer for years without any problems.

Hadn’t bought cars in many years till recently. Other than hybrid all I really cared about was the safety package and general ease of use entertainment, navigation, etc. There’s a real difference in those kinds of things. Everything else I couldn’t start to understand.

We bought a new car 3 years ago.

It has heated seats.

Holy poop, I love the heated seats.

My brother and I once drove out to a fishing camp at the end of 150km of logging roads in Quebec in a rental Ford Taurus.

They were impressed.

I’ve been down the entire forestry trunk road in AB with Rhonda. Never had an issue.

It’s way more fun to drive a car too.

First car the wifey and I ever bought together was a little Honda Civic in the 1990s.

Damn, it was a good little car.

Ended up selling it to a friend when we moved to Boston. We moved back a few years later, and it was weird getting rides from my friend to hockey in my old car.

Gawd, I miss standard transmission.

It’s media and marketing, they tell you that you need an expensive truck if you ever need to go down a road with a pebble on it.

I used to rip my Mazda 3 hatchback everywhere it “shouldn’t” of handled well.

The best part of the trip is the trip not the drive there and back

To be fair, you can’t haul a moose or put a gun turret on a car. Some of us need trucks. To each their own I guess.

I get a beep when I leave the lane. I leave the lane all the time now. Negative reinforcing. Love that beep.

Every so often (like when hockey on weekends with both kids are in opposite ends of the city) I'll rent a car for the weekend. Only if we can't arrange car pooling first - but often we do it for tournaments.

Anyhoo, people always look at me funny when I tell them I rent a second car when we need it. I figure we do it about 6 times a year. I figure we rent about 6 times a year, and never for more than $150 a weekend.

I tell this to them, and then take pleasure in watching them do the math, figure out how much they are paying for their second car, and how they are flushing money down the toilet.

100%.
One day it will be google cars and most people won't own a car at all. You will call and the type of vehicle you need will arrive and you'll pay per trip.

I don't see it in my lifetime, but it will happen. This will be an improvement in so many ways.

Speaking of wasting money:

My sponge pump on my furnace isn't working. I know nothing about furnaces, other than I know not to tinker with my furnace. But it's obvious it's the problem - it's filling up with water and spilling all over the floor.

So I call up a reputable furnace repair company.

$130 to send a guy out to "diagnose the problem."

"Ummmm, the problem is the sponge pump isn't working."

"Yes, well we don't know that - we need to send some guy out to see that."

"OK, and then what?"

"Well, if it is, we'll make arrangements to send someone out with the proper parts to repair it - but don't worry, you won't pay for another service call, just the time it takes to repair it!"

"Wouldn't it make more sense to take down the model of the sponge pump and make sure your technician has one in the truck, so that he can simply switch them out while he is here?"

******GIANT SIGH******* "Fine, can you give me the model number of the pump?"

Please kill me now.

Had an air conditioner not working last year. Went on Youtube, walked me through some diagnosis steps. Got told it was a part and how to find it. I took out the old one and ordered a new one from Amazon... 4 days and 11.00 later air conditioner fixed.

Can you not try the same? I do understand the reluctance. I won't touch plumbing or electricity at all... a Youtube search may show an easy solution though?
