well, i never thought I would say this. Haven't been able to post much because of how busy things are, but I actually logged in today and backread (dont start with me whitey) and it was nice to read some the comedic posts (not being a smart ass) and remove myself from all the bullpoop that is going on in the world. So many people getting laid off, both parents, with kids to feed, mortgages to pay, vehicles to pay for, bills to pay, it’s just awful. It could extend people’s work lives from 60 to 70.

If you have a business but had to shutdown, not only do you have zero income but you most likely have rent to pay on your business location. If a lot of small businesses fail it’s going to be awful.

My buddy got laid off, as did his wife who had a great job at the Empress hotel downtown, they have three teenagers, a mortgage, they’re really concerned. He said “it’s a nightmare”. Luckily they have some savings but when you tap into it you’ve gotta work longer. No college for the kids.

We got notice early Feb that we are being outsourced May 15th. My wife and I are worrying now, since companies aren't hiring, and we don't know if we will end up qualifying for the Mortgage Deferral.

i just got off the phone with one of my end users. He works in biomedical engineering. I phoned him to see how things are going because their orders are just insane. He was on the verge of tears, and this guy is a Veteran of 10+ years. They are working around the clock (usually a 8-4pm lab) to wash/sterilize/repair respirators and accessories because of covid. There aren't near enough respirators or supplies for the patients so all the units are being rushed processed to go to the next patient. Its incredibly sad whats going on.

I’m cooking sausage and eggs while watching reruns of some LPGA golf tournament and looking out onto my back patio of exposed aggregate which I pressure washed yesterday, looks awesome!

I'm sitting at my desk marking papers. My self isolation lasts three more days, then I go back to work for one week, take one week holidays and then am laid off until who knows when. If this non-essential service thing lasts more than 6 or 8 weeks our owners probably won't be able to re-open.
