ANy GIFs of the Cleary handshake deals? That was a joke. The guy was a pylon. Spreads some false story about a 3-year deal in Philly. Kenny believes it. And makes a handshake deal to offer a 1-year deal, with another one to follow next year, and another one to follow after that. I think that was when Nyquist scored a goal per game in the AHL but the Wings wouldn't demote Cleary to make room for him. Cleary had like 1 goal in 30 games. Finally a couple guys get hurt, Nyquist gets promoted in November, and scores like 30 goals in 50 games, carrying the team into the playoffs. After that debacle, Cleary would receive 2 more contracts. I think he was Kenny's real life boyfriend.

How was Dipietro not the *winner*. Yeah, the Finger contract was not great, but jesus, the Dipietro contract was not only bad as a standalone deal, it set a HORRIBLE precedent for contracts and cap circumvention, the effects of which are still being felt today by some teams.

It's like doing a worst #1 overall pick in the last 30 years and not having Daigle and Yakupov as your 1 and 1A.

If Wade Redden then how about Chris Drury, Steve Nash, Shane Doan & Mike Rosival (Rangers) Kovalchuk (Devils-so bad the league rejected it) Andrew MacDonald & Bryzgalov (Flyers) Pronger(signed when he on was LTIR to get to cap floor) and my future pick of Tavares (Toronto) for overpaid

This is a fairly easy one. The Dipietro deal is easily the worst contract of all time. Lousy goalie, $67.5 million, Islanders will be paying him $1.5 million until 2029. He sucked large

Not defending the contract in any way but the guy didn’t suck. Injuries derailed his career. The contract, at the time, would have been less horrible if he didn’t get injured(every time he hit the ice).

I agree 100%. Little was nothing more than insurance, as the Jets depth at C is horrendous. But....Ladd actually refused to ink in WPG. Rumored that his nose could snort a snowbank, and his wife wasn't a fan of all the ladies he was hanging around with. So it was divorce or start over in a new city. Worked out great for the Jets.
