I think Miller gets more praise then he deserves due to longevity as a sabre

2/3 of 1 season he was the best goalie in the league

every other year, somewhere in the 12 to 20 range

he was bob sauve with a national commercial

- homiedclown

He might not have been a top5 goalie
But he was top10
Saying he was 12-20 is a joke

As far as I can tell, the premise is that Botterill makes bad and inexplicable trades. That seems fair to me

Hell, the Sabres trading for Miller doesnt make any sense, so trading him away wouldn't shock me either. Probably for a 4th and then he'll get flipped to the Senators for a 2nd

- jcragcrumple

WHAT???
It made plenty of sense at the time

They aren’t pegulas employees ...... or Sabres employees
- Sabretooth9

That's not true at all the sports service company is owned by the Jacob's but their pegulas employees who feed the media and press and private parties for the pegulas ... you are probably thinking about the workers that do popcorn etc

I know all this my dad is close friends with Terry and works with him

I don’t think a blogger on hockeybuzz is a measure for any GM
Especially the guy who writes about the sh!tty Sens

When you trade a 2nd and a 5th for a guy to sit in the press box most of the year, you deserve to have the Sens blogger call you a moron
- jcragcrumple

He played 51 games
That’s nowhere near “most”

He was top 10 in GAA twice and top 10 in SV% 4 times. He's been in the league 17 years. Take out his Vezina year and it's top 10 once and 3x respectively. I think that the 12-20 range is pretty fair.

Wasn't that a Krueger call? And, he deserved to be in the pressbox early on. He was pretty bad.

I don’t define goalies by GAA
That’s basically the equivalent of using +\-
It’s a team stat

Save% is a decent stat,
but still has its problems

Miller was a top10 goalie most years

Also, he played for Lindy Ruff who was a high event coach.

The Sabres ALWAYS gave up a lot of chances due to his system.

Idk. Most teams run with 7 d-men. They had 8 but your forgetting that 2 were injured to start the season. And, they were playing a very condensed schedule post-Global series. And Pilut was injured to start the season and even if he was ready, he needed at least some time to get up to speed or even better, based on 18-19, he needed more seasoning in Rochester.
- Michael Pachla

But we should’ve traded 2 of our healthy defensemen

Could’ve just played with 4 defensemen
Or had AHL quality guys here
That would’ve made sense... or not

Very true
And it’s not like we had any stud defensemen either
We had mostly 2nd pair guys
Maybe u could call Soupy a top pair guy,
but that would’ve been due to his offense,
not his defense

Yes, forgive me for bringing up a hockey topic posed by a hockey blogger on this website. I guess it hurts your feelings to hear people say mean things about JB. Would you prefer to talk Trump, corona and mutual bonds?

Have at it

I’d much rather talk about hockey
Just not have to listen to your over exaggerated whining about Botts

Why are u reading the Sens blog anyways?
Who gives a sh!t about them?!
Do u read all the teams blogs?

It sounds to me like discussing the job Botterill has done is a little too sensitive for you

I think rhd/lhd is over-emphasized here. Yes I get it it's ideal to have 3 and 3 but plenty of NHL teams go unbalanced.

Miller was not very good early in the year. Anyone who disagrees can go watch replays from early in the season.
