He deserved the impeachment.
- Pegullaville

Not based on precedent, he didn't. The Clinton impeachment indicated that.

Nobody was realistically calling for him to do anything on this massive of a scale in January. The disaster in Italy didn't even really manifest itself until mid-to-late February. There are many things the Trump administration could have done better but being Nostradamus in January isn't one of them.
- buffalofan19

The meetings that the insider trades took place on was in late January.

Everyone knew about this in mid-late January and it’s almost mid March and we still have states acting on their own to close off all non-essential business.

My idiot of a PM Trudeau is still reacting slow too, and his very own wife tested positive for the virus weeks ago.

This is how it should be. Our government was designed to give the states a great amount of power to act on their own in situations like this. That doesn't absolve Trump of blame, but some states have it worse than others, and they should be allowed to act accordingly.

It's possibly a good solution, but not every president used one. The Obamas didn't. Their assets were so spread out that it wasn't deemed necessary. The problem with Trump is that some of the assets (actually many) he held were based on his own brand name. Converting them to cash and investing them elsewhere would have been a stupid move (financially speaking).
- buffalofan19

It's not that the Obama's assets were "spread out" it's that they weren't stocks (except to the extent they were index funds).

Again, the use of the blind trust (or an investment strategy that doesn't involve individually identifiable equity positions) may impair the investor's individual financial performance, but that's not all that crazy an idea if the fundamental premise of public service is ... well .. public service.

Just call.

We take a name and color/make/model of the vehicle. Pay when you get here, cash or charge.

I’d say if you’re calling at 5, expect an hr wait.

I guess what I am saying is, if I had the portfolio of Trump, I can't honestly say I would use the blind trust unless I am absolutely forced to.

We did about $700 less than a normal Friday. Add in what would’ve been in beer and booze, would’ve been a normal Saturday. The tips are good but the business comes 1st. No business, no job......

You’re starting to see who the loyal employees are.

Some are already jumping ship, they won’t be back IMO.

In a week it’ll be the owner, the morning cook, and I here 6 days a week.

One cook actually said when his hrs got cut “I guess I’m going to have to look for another job”.

If they had only 1, yes I would use it on Okposo...$6m for 3 more seasons of 4th line play will be a major issue IMO.

If 2 were to be made available, man I would think long and hard on Skinner and probably pull the trigger. He has proven to be a cyclical scorer and for $9M he needs to be consistently in the 60sh poing range . He had poop to play with no doubt, but $9m is boat load to throw away in the down seasons.

- IonSabres

I would leave Skinner alone just, unless him and Krueger can't figure there differences out. The money saved with Okposo could help improve the the middle 6.

I always find it amusing how people complain about talking politics on a fluid site like this. The design of this site/message board is fluid conversation, so it's naturally going to progress from one thing or another. The topic is always going to be the most intriguing conversation. If you don't like the topic, you have two options. The first is to change the subject to something more intriguing, and do it in a way that's going to get a lot of people interested. The second is to go somewhere else or log off the internet completely.

Given that sports is just about non-existent at this point in time, it's kind of hard to call it the most intriguing conversation.

Losing the election is not a right to throw everything at a dartboard blindfolded and see what sticks

Obama was imposing his agenda lawlessly, breaking the limitations within which the Framers cabined executive power, precisely to prevent presidents from becoming tyrants. Not to mention Obama, and his back room deals put on hold with Russia until after his re-election when he had more time to focus on things like Russia

Impeachment is so divisive, the Framers feared that it could be triggered on partisan rather than serious grounds.

The right was wrong trying to do it with Clinton
Te left was wrong trying to do it with Trump

Both sides guilty of wasting OUR taxpaying dollars on that instead of more important issues within our country

Just watching some of Mike Tyson's all-time knockouts. Man that guy had a punch.

Yeah, there's one slow-mo clip of him KOing someone, I forget who, it looks like his fist dents the guy's skull in. He was a bad mf er.

Hockeybuzz Code of Conduct:

2. Please keep threads on-topic
Try to keep things on-topic. If Eklund writes a blog on Eastern Conference trade rumors, and you want to talk about the latest NHL video game, please locate the appropriate thread, or create a new one, in the forums.

And yes, there is some more leeway given for general discussion on the threads of the team’s bloggers. But when the thread is devoted to discussing hockey, keep to the point at hand.

Now the FED is just printing unlimited amounts of money, so not only are we at stock market levels last seen since the Obama administration, we are now franked for the next 8 years too.

Trump is doing the only thing he’s good at, creating insurmountable amounts of debt.

He has completely botched everything.

Now the stimulus signing has everything to do with the Democrats holding things up but if the correct measures were taken in January, we’d probably have seen a flattening of the curve by now in terms of cases and the worst would be over.

States are acting on their own because it is the job to do so.

Feds declare emergency so funds will be freed up.
Governors declare disaster within their state.
Governors dictate what happens in their own state.

Like I said, all of them suck!

Just remember, when you think you got it bad, it could always be worse. Like living in a spineless 3rd world country like Canada where your dollar rivals the peso.
