Larsson was more valuable to the Sabres this year than Olofsson and that’s not even debatable

You have made many statements today and when called to clarify, given nothing substantial in return

One played with our best players and was below average offensively and below average defensively, while the other routinely shut down other teams top lines and pretty much dominating in shot/scoring chance share while also playing the more important position

This really isn’t even debatable if you believe at all in numbers.

Like sincerely at all.

Larsson was really good. And in general is pretty good.

And no one here would consider giving him even 4 mil

I was unaware that also applied to scoring in general

That's the only metric you've got? Shot/scoring chance share?

Larsson was better.

He was legitimately one of the better defensive forwards in hockey

That’s worth more than a guy who you can’t count on to consistently produce with your best player at EV

Roslovic is buried behind Wheeler and Laine on the RW depth chart and does not get any PP minutes.

So is he really a good 4th liner ? Or a victim of circumstance ?

FALSE
He’s on their 2nd unit

Is Larsson a better 4c than Olofsson is a 1W? Yes, that isn't debatable.

Is larsson more valuable than olofsson as a blanket statement? Cmon man.

I feel like Larsson is one of those players people either really like or really don't. Been that way for a while now

I hated Larsson two years ago.

He’s been really good the last two years.

Especially under Krueger

Mike Schopp is worse. He literally says: "I dont know what any of this this means, but I believe it." And he seems to despise the NHL

Im sorry, because i agree about larsson being good at what he does

The problem with that is its not scoring goals, also known as the reason the sabres dont win alot of games

In case anyone thinks I’m just regurgitating someone on Twitter. I’m sure you aren’t blocked by a paywall for Evolving Wild.

Maybe I’m way off but I just can’t see it.

If he was a center, maybe. But I don’t think his perceived value is that of a top 30 AAV player

- sbroads24

Based on real money or percent of cap on signing?

I don't think he is either, but just going on real money doesn't give you the full picture.

The fact that they’ve been playing so well together, no matter who was rotated in on their other wing, tells me it’s important to keep them both

For poops and giggles let’s say Olofsson is slightly more valuable than Larsson.

We would cringe at giving Larsson 3.5, but Olofsson please take 5 mil now.

And I’m the ridiculous one?

Are we paying for value or because his shot is pretty?

Well, looking only at numbers, I'll continue to take Olofsson who has a history of rising to the challenge in 3 leagues. I'll bet he does the same in the NHL as he continues to adjust to the NHL after only 50 games and producing 40 points in his 1st year!

You take Larsson, in his 8th NHL season who produced at 45% of Goalofsson while playing 93% of his minutes. Larsson had minutes with Skinner and did very little....but he is a very, very good 4th liner on decent team. Furthermore, he's replaceable and his replacement is on the team ready to go.

I like Larry, I do....but there is one person on the planet who would take Larsson over Olofsson.
In Kaiser's words, stop diggin.
