I think it would be smart to stop the season and do playoffs/rankings based off of points per game(puts us ahead of cgy i think) then just start the playoffs when hockey resumes. Otherwise they risk starting next season late as well.
- Retinalz

I'm fine with that as long as we make it in
Assuming the pause is only a couple of months I'd say you come back and finish out the season however, have an abbreviated offseason, then a shortened year similar to when the last lockoit happened

LE is Covid-19 to the Canucks, a nasty virus that just won't go away or let you live a normal life

Will the suspended season be a benefit or detriment to the team?

I wonder how they will work playoffs whenever they come back. Have all teams play up to 71 games, or finish the full 82?

This could be good for Van as Marky now has time to get healthy.

- NorthNuck

Yeah that was one thought that when they resume it will be a healthy team with full line up.

Then if we are talking about health how can they be healthy if this virus can be around for months. So since everyone can be infected from every day life they can get it or be infected or reinfect if resuming play weeks from now.

The US health wise is in shambles as the most infected nation in the world. So its going to be around for a while causing travel there to be dangerous.

So if they are suspending for health reasons then they are likely not to restart for health reasons. Unless they go straight to some modified playoffs in mid May or something. Either way the season as we know is done.

I imagine neither/both.
The season and playoffs will be cancelled.
No SC.

Although I recall there being extreme concerns with SARS long ago, I don't recall the mass hysteria, cancelled sporting events, that we're seeing with today's lethal Corona virus. Is it simply due to media?

Or it was written yesterday and someone is posting a picture of two different books?
- Retinalz

Dean Koontz wrote about it in 1981. The book was called The Eyes of Darkness. As creepy as the Simpsons predicting the future?

TBH, I thought it was one more year on his contract. If he plays this bad now, what's he going to be like two years older?

At least this is the last year of his full NTC. Starting next season he has a modified NTC (15 team list). Moving him should be easier...

This one spreads much faster and is more dangerous. Cancelling events is the right way to go until a vaccine is created.

If Covid-19 was a Bruin the NHL wouldn’t have suspended anything.

It does spread at an unbelievable rate but it is in fact far less dangerous.

Social media has exploded since SARS. Plus now the fake news has been called out. People literally can't put their phones down and are subject to full bombardment on social media. Getting it from all angles.

Less deadly, but such a high infection rate means an easier time getting to those who are most vulnerable.

Anyone who is or has family over a certain age should be cautious(but not everyone will be) and cancelling public events is a good way to at least mitigate that a bit.
