Leverage works against you. I guarantee even you knew I was going to do it, you wouldn't be able to hold onto your stick in that situation. Hard to play hockey without a stick and it degrades the game if you can just repeatedly slash the stick out of the oppositions hands.

The problem is that guys lift the other teams sticks all the time. Is it a penalty if the stick is knocked out of the players hand? If that’s the case I can see a lot of dropped sticks.
Not sure there is a great way to enforce a penalty on this.
On one hand hold onto your stick on the other hand it might not take much to fling a stick out of a guys hand depending on the play.
