I think that assumption is fair. There is no way in hell he would have practiced yesterday if they knew it was fractured. - Flyers1218
I would definitely lean towards that but is there varying degrees of a fracture? Is it possible to play with a fractured knee cap, I don't know. It could also be that preliminary diagnosis was just a bruise and maybe his condition worsened leading them to get an x ray revealing the injury after trying to practice. A medical diagnosis is often a process of steps but hey, lets swim the narrative that the medical staff is incompetent. There's just too much positive going on with this team. What fun is that?

Nah I totally agree with you. All I was saying is the first X-ray the night of the game was probably negative. But if the condition worsened he probably got another X-ray and that revealed the fracture. I’m sure they didn’t say, “oh you have a fractured knee cap, but you’re gonna play anyway”. Initial xrays don’t always show the break, I know that from experience.

Absolutely. Could be the difference between an x ray and an MRI.
As for coronavirus, there seem to be some pretty smart people in here. I’ve heard the spectrum range from millions of deaths to it is totally overhyped. I’m not a scientist or a doctor. I’ve got no idea what’s going to happen. All I know is our current lifestyle as we know it could be in jeopardy for a while due to any number of reasons and people should do what they feel is best for them and their family. I’m going to leave it at that.
Only silver lining to losing JvR and Myers on a nine game wining streak is, they look like they’ll be returning just in time for playoffs. - SuperSchennBros
Yes sir. And who knows, maybe Ghost will catch fire.
Not only are you wrong historically, not only have you failed to do even the most cursory reading on the current topic, your post is not even logical.
Yes, the gas station attendant may have the virus. Lets call that random probability x. If you meet two such people, it's more than 2x. If you are in close proximity to 100 people, it is much higher than 100x. Iotw, you could be in the wrong place at the wrong time, but your chances of being at the wrong place, as you put it, are well over 100 times more in such a crowded place. So you are putting thousands of people together, and each of those people are simultaneously facing a hugely elevated risk. Then you are letting them out into society.
And you know what is fundamentally different from all the other alarms guys like you allude to - like Y2K, SARS,hurricanes etc? Those were largely alarms of anticipation. I would personally argue it is better to be scared than sorry, but we are past that with this. This is an alarm of reality. This disease is here. Do you want a situation like Italy - where police are patrolling the streets and hospitals are getting overwhelmed?
I really wish people like you, who clearly do not have any clue about how outbreaks start, continue, or are contained, would refrain from posting comments like this on a public board. Outbreaks are only controlled by one measure, and one alone: draconian restrictions and sharp change in practices. Being "sensible" does not cut it.
You have every right to deal with risk yourself in a personal and subjective way, but you should not try to extend the logic of your decisions to public policy under the garb of "common sense." - PT21
Ok its time to shut down everything in an area where there is a confirmed case.
Declare mandatory quarantine, close businesses, schools etc. Patrol the streets and arrest non essential personal traveling.
In fact a New York area has quarantined a neighborhood. Well there is a high number of cases. I get it for that area.
IMO officials would have been better off saying that yes larger groups of people bring a higher chance of coming in contact with an infected person. Judge for yourself if attending an event is what you want to do. If you are sick stay home.
If there is not a community infection happening then the chances of catching the virus is very low. Berate the CDC doctor for basically stating that very thing.
Obviously there is a higher chance to contract the virus where there is a higher concentration of people.
It's people like you who want to silence a differing view that are the problem. Explain to me where I stated that stopping large events is wrong. That was never my point. So go home hide in the closet and when the world stops being risky let us all know.
I'm well aware of what's going on. So the two doctors I talked to today who work where there was a confirmed case believed the hysteria by some was overblown.
The patient was sent home and told to stay home.
I shouldn't post on a public board about this? So, your on a board of a sports team who is playing a game that could be attended by thousands of people. Shouldn't they be condemned? Shouldn't all the fans the organization and the league be condemned for not suspending the game or at least closing the venues to fans?
Using your logic I'm waiting for the condemnation.

He doesn't want to shut down a differing view. He wants to shut down an uninformed view. Your post here just reinforces that. You want to rely on people being smart and doing the right thing. Pay attention, it's not a question of if an infection in a community of people is going to occur but when!
Ghost in? Well the winning sreak was fun while it lasted......... - xShoot4WarAmpsx
I had to lol at this, couldn't help it.I'm hoping we have old Ghost back. Not sucky Ghost. He CAN be an asset for this team.
Watching NBC. Millbury just doubled down on Coots not the most important player. Patrick Sharp immediately said he agreed with Jones.....lol

On a lighter note, did anyone see Konecny mic'd up at practice.
Comedy Gold Jerry!

Keep an eye out for when Konecny and Marchand are out on the ice together. You know Konecny is going to chirp him on the shootout. I bet he goads him into taking a penalty.

I bet if you mic'd him up for this game you would have to broadcast it on PPV.
Darn I missed it. Did he stick to Jake? - MBFlyerfan
Well the piece high lighted TK and Jake. Jake's passing in particular. Then shows 2 shots of him setting up Coots net front for to nice goals. Sharp mentioned Coots and Millbury piped up then.

So are you supporting tonight’s game being played? My view isn’t uninformed. I can think for myself.
I’m not being unreasonable. Putting out arbitrary numbers for an event and to not attend is not the best way to keep people up to date.
What is absurd and stupid is calling something that could literally save lives stupid and absurd. - MJL
theres a 1 in 700,000 chance of being struck by lightning. In comparison, the rate of corona virus in the US is about 1 in 327,200. Idk if you are good with numbers, probably not, but that is an extremely low percentage.
I was wondering where all the tin foil was at when i went shopping today. Maybe find yourself a bubble to roll around in to protect yourself
