Wow you sure dont get it.....So now you can't read AND are super stupid. Wow
- SMBDragon

i have just always thought that analogy was hilarious, particularly when you defended it to the point where the players don’t matter. But I’m very open to you educating me on the matter

Podkolzin will never play for the comets. Hog...maybe. I’d prefer not.
- CanuckDon

I could see either playing ahl time to get use to the ice size/physicality. Training camp tells a lot with that though

So Canucks officially out of the playoffs as of tonight, wonder if they will get back in,

Last 14 games = 10 points
14 games to go and need more than 20 points.

I predict 14 points, finishing 88 and out.

Comets next season. That’s one of the stories I’m kind of interested in. I still think your farm team is a good indicator of future NHL success. If JB is correct in thinking 6 or 7 prospects are NHL competent then the Comets will benefit for the next few years.
- bloatedmosquito

Agreed.
Utica should be adding at least 3 rookies next season in Woo, Focht and possibly Lockwood and Keppen. Not sure if they will be adding any from the European leagues, but would like to see Costmar and Utunen added to the farm as well.

Just back read the last thread and just want to give you some perspective of Coronavirus. That is a fake media name. So is COVID 19.

The virus’s real name is SARS CoV 2. Nobody wants to say it out loud but people in the know understand how serious this situation is. It’s not about deaths, it’s about infection rates. When SARS evolves again (and it will) version 3.0 will be a doozy. That’s why governments quarantine millions of people over this. It’s no joke. The toilet paper thing is but containment isn’t.

Anyway, back to hockey.

Every election year has a disease:
SARS - 2004
AVIAN - 2008
SWINE - 2010
MERS - 2012
EBOLA - 2014
ZIKA - 2016
EBOLA again - 2018
CORONA - 2020

Also stated corona has a contagion factor of 2. SARS was 4...Measles is 18.
Corona's cure rate is 99.7% for those under 50 years old the spread is leveling off.
Largely considered to be a 'viral pneumonia' being hyped as a pandemic or 'new black plague' by the media just before an election.

Food for thought.

Just thinking if Canucks have to find an emergency goalie at the last minute do you think they would put Dan Cloutier in net? Would he be eligible?

Discuss.

Games in hand still, but have to start winning. Find ways to win instead of finding a way to lose.
- Bettmanhatesus

Historically we usually win 5-10 of the last games as we have nothing to lose lol as we are so far out of it the tension doesn't matter. They are buckling under the pressure this year so far chalk it up to learning.

That is correct, and I have stated my opinions several times, it’s just taken 95% of the rest here to finally catch up.
- Makita

I’ve stated my views on coaching last year & this year. Baumer & Brown shoulda been gone already. Said this season Green is on the hot seat. Still saying he’s here but could be gone by the 20 game mark next season. He’s got all the talent he needs to make this years PO’s & could only be fired if a big name comes available. I’m hoping that’s the case barring something spectacular happening.

JB has a lot riding on that comment. I see 3-4 having a shot at the bigs. Lind Rafferty OJ. Pod is a no brainer once his KHL contract ends. Hoagie still a year or 2 after him. Down the road I can see Rathbone making his debut mainly due to ELC’s being so important in the cap world.

Why? I don’t think his age or status prevents him from playing in the AHL. If he ain’t ready when he arrives then what do you do with him? Back to Russia? That does seem to be a pattern with this team.
- bloatedmosquito

It allows an ELC contract to slide in certain cases. One of the best reason to pick Euros to let them develop against men vs juniors.

I’m thinking Costmar breaking out made it a bit easier to trade Madden. Still really like Madden & a tough pill to swallow. Lots riding on how JB can resign Toffoli & the cap dumps needed to fit in every UFA.

So you would go to the draft table, thinking, we better take this player, because he can play in a European league?

Costmar is playing in a league that is maybe equivalent to bchl, but I never complain about a centre or defenseman being picked in any draft.
I wasn't as high on Madden as most and have always liked what Toffoli brings as a player.

No.

Boeser needs to be out for 3 more games, in order for the team to be cap compliant.

It always comes down to a prospect making the jump to the Pros. Many wash out & others are surprises. I too believe in drafting C’s & D’s. BPA is subjective for me but in the 1st round it’s more agreeable for me & why I liked the Pod pick once I got to digest it. The 2nd round prospects can fall & BPA generally is fine. 3rd & beyond it’s the scouts who earn their paycheques & BPA is more than arguable.
