AV said we won't know until tomorrow. Hopefully just a bruise and he can be good. But, we do have Ghost licking his chops to get in. But man, I can already see it. Myers out, Ghost in and if we lose, fans will solely blame Ghost

Ghost comes in, scores a hat trick (2 ES, 1 PP) and goes +3 in a 5-4 OT loss.

Nice luxury to be able to insert Shane Gostisbehere in to the lineup when we have an injury isn't it?

Have you not seen some the bounces we have gotten during this streak?

I have a feeling we got hot little too early. Buffalo seemed to be a sign of a upcoming decline possibly a slump

Please refrain from not using CAPS. But I do appreciate how you bashed him without any logic or facts to back it up. Much appreciated.

Wings have fell on hard times, will always be hockeytown though.

Even during a 10 year drought and while the Wings were the Kings of the castle, the Maple Leafs has a way better eclectic atmosphere.

Toronto is a great hockey city. Fans are extremely passionate. I haven't been to the ACC yet, I've seen a few games in Maple Leaf Gardens. You could feel the history just being there.

You sure about that, I was told this team is firing on all cylinders, and their poop does not need tightening up. The effort and poor decision making displayed during the sabres game is nothing to worry about
- corduroy

The Buffalo game was a product of them playing down to the level of their competition. They were thoroughly outplayed by the Sabres and Hart bailed them out. That said, the teams upcoming on the schedule are some of the best teams in the NHL. So the Flyers can play solid all around games, and still lose.

IMO one trap game where they still ended up winning 3-1 is not an indication of anything other than the players aren't robots and they just didn't bring it that game which happens in professional sports.

If they have the same sort of effort in the games this week then it's something to worry about more but I just don't see a need to worry about the performance during the Sabers game when the Flyers are in an extended winning streak.

I also expect them to lose 1 or 2 games coming up. Possibly this week because every team loses in the NHL. Keep it to 2 games and you can manage that, it's when a losing streak hits 3 that I think things can quickly go the other way.

Agreed!

Detroit is not winning. They’re not filling seats and in brand new arena. Toronto is a different animal year in and year out.

Just to add: It would honestly be better to lose a game or 2 this week when we don't play anyone in our division

If the Flyers play strong games and simply lose to teams who are better than they are, then I'm okay with it. This team hasn't lost 2 games in a row in a significant period of time.

9 game winning streaks are pretty rare in the NHL. Even for the elite teams. Lot of parity in the league, and when you factor in a hot goalie can steal a game when a team is thoroughly outplayed. Obviously it's impossible for the Flyers to finish the season on a 23 game winning streak, so of course they are going to lose games. Just have to avoid losing streaks like you said.

It's bananas they had a 10 game winning streak under Hakstol looking back now.

True. But he was a terrible coach. It's funny looking back that so many people defended the hire despite the guy never being on an NHL bench a day in his life, coupled with his failures at North Dakota.

I don't think he was a bad coach; I think he was a bad NHL Head Coach. As an assistant or a player development type, he'd probably have some success. But as for a head coach in the NHL, he was not the right pick. But still, the Flyers went outside of the mainstream and old boys club with the choice, so I was willing to give it a chance. It didn't work out.

Also, I wouldn't consider him a "failure" at North Dakota. He had a lot of success despite never winning a national championship. If that's your criteria, then we'll just disagree.

When the coaches prior to, and after Hakstol won Championships what does that mean? Did he have inferior players? He got to 7 Frozen Fours. How does he not win one? He had players like Zach Parise, Jonathan Toews and TJ Oshie on his teams. I disagree coaching at the best NCAA program and not being able to get the team a Championship despite coaching great players that is a red flag. He should have never been hired by the Flyers.

Anyway, it's water under the bridge now.

He was neither a bad coach or a bad NHL coach. He was very good at handling young players. The team currently is reaping some of the benefits of that. He did a strong job getting the Flyers into the playoffs in the 17/18 NHL season and finishing 3rd in the Metro with basically one line and having to use Filppula as a checking center. He was learning on the job as an NHL head coach. His inexperience showed in 18/19 because he could not guide the team out of a funk that just got deeper and deeper and the players would no longer play for him. He's a good hockey coach just wasn't a top NHL coach. We're certainly much better off now but I won't overlook the contribution he made to the current team.

So Ghost and Sanheim?
How would you guys pair them up if Myers is out?
