I mean you can play it down if you want but this is far more serious than the common cold.

Well said and my thoughts exactly. Not worried about me at all despite almost 70 but I worry about mankind in general. When it comes to me I just worry about missing any Flyers hockey and my loved ones.

Not laughing off the threat but just providing proper context. It needs to be said also that the public health system in China is no where near the strength as those in the West. In China, men (especially over 65) were a percentage point more likely to die and a likely factor is the prevalence of smoking amongst men there. China also withheld information and underreported the stats and story making the situation worse than it really should’ve been.

Well in Italy, they just quarantined 16 million people in Lombardy, choosing to (frank) up their economy rather than continue to have it spread.

Not sure our health care system here is ready for an outbreak here.

China is a fully vaccinated country with RFID chips implanted in them already.

Why do you think it's important to offer an opinion about a disease that is killing people on a hockey message board?

What's the upside in it for you? If it's nothing, nobody thinks you are any smarter or dumber than you are -- because it's a hockey message board. None of us know you.

If it's something where, say, 5,000 people die. Just say that happens. Why would you want this take out there where we can all see it and say "Wow. This guy talks about a global disease outbreak like he had some kind of clue about what it was."

If we utilize your level of knowledge in this process, I assume we will all die before you can change your stripes.
I'm not going to be political but this outbreak is designed to test EVERY safety net, safeguard and medical system. Since I care if YOU die, along with my G-kids, etc. I do support a more comprehensive approach to this sort of problem.
