The team was and remains immature and lacks experience. Blame Babcock all you want but he's been in every single situation you can think of. He said everything he would have said to any other team but the message fell on deaf ears to a group so young and inexperienced. - JohnFergusonJr
Immaturity and inexperience are part of the process, they'll learn from it, I hope. After that game 6 loss, they seemed rattled.. Babs was a good coach but it's on the coach to get the players ready

Looks like a cop out for the players. If 18 guys can't come out playing hard in a Game 7, that's on the players. And when Babcock tried to change the team's style at the beginning of this year, the players clearly revolted and gave up on him, waiting for him to get fired.
During the coverage of the anniversary of the Golden Goal, Crosby credited Babcock with delivering the right message during the intermission before OT that helped the team pull off the win. Babcock said the right things, the guys he was talking to just didn't step up.

I don't agree. Comparing the Canadian Olympic team to the Maple Leafs is not a fair comparison by any stretch...

Yes it is. It shows the difference between experienced, accomplished, professional players and a bunch of immature All-Stars. Even Keefe realized it after a month or two how immature and inexperienced this team is. The team needs to continue to bring in some players who can step up when the time calls for it.

Canada's 4th line is better then the Leafs 4th line, so when Babs wanted to throw out his 4th line after a goal he wouldn't have to worry with team Canada.
Edit: Babs should have realized that and played his top players more against Boston
I am not sure you understand which character you are in this GIF. - Aetherial
My favourite part of this evenings episode of 'navigating napoleon' ... Was where all you logical folk ignored him and carried on your own side conversation? It was honestly pretty good stuff to read, very insightful.
The best part was when he (frank)ed off for a bit. When he realized how bad it was killing him to see this wonderfully logical conversation without his text diarreah inserted in the middle... He panicked and tried to bait three of you at once.
Very educational, I must admit. I wonder if no one responded to his bait ever, if he would stay (frank)ed off?

Or maybe putting out that 4th line was a message to his best players that they needed to wake up in the biggest game of the season and that just because they get paid the most, doesn't mean they get to decide when they want to play well.

Oh, I think it is pretty clear that he would fade away if no one engaged him. He needs this too much.
Every now and then it is entertaining to watch him make poop up, ignore facts, post irrelevant stuff, project exaggeration, obfuscate and post up a GIF in surrender.
I can never hope to match his arguing energy though. I will have to hit the sack soon and I am sure he will grasp the opportunity to pretend he didn't surrender and repeat the usual crap all evening.
The funniest part of this evening's little go 'round was that someone else loosely on his side, made an actual valid point that he himself somehow missed.

You mean like comparing the 2018-2019 Maple Leafs to the 2010 Canadian men's Olympic team?

You don't do that in a game 7 do or die situation - PatC80
Yeah, you absolutely do especially given how young the team is and how long his contract was. He was playing the long game with that group, trying to get them to learn their lesson so they'd change and be better in the future. Unfortunately for him, when that group got their big contracts, they quit on him and got him fired. New coach has come in and nothing has changed. Same efforts, same attitudes. Keefe keeps giving the players everything they want and it's the same poop.

It's gone off the rails for him this evening and it is only 10 PM. I expect him to take some time to recover and regroup and come out swinging for the rest of the evening, or maybe tomorrow.

Like praising Babcock because Giguère went God mode in the 2002-2003 playoffs, then female dog about Keefe because Andersen has been subpar this year?

That was yesterdays news.
Babcock was a great coach because Giguere was beyond great and Keefe is a bad coach because Andersen has struggled
