If they are looking to sign now, would probably be looking for the burn your first year and collect a handsome signing bonus route. Don’t think the Canucks are in a position to do either of those things. - 1970vintage
Lockwood has no leverage now depth wise so yes they won't on him. The reports on Rathbone is he probably wants to stay in school another year. |

Cap Issues? - VANTEL
Both. I doubt they will have cap space to pay signing bonuses to college players this season, and I doubt Green would put those players in a game when fighting for a playoff spot. I don’t know, but that’s my feeling. |

Lockwood becomes a UFA if he doesn’t sign by whatever date. |

I think they will conduct business as usual. If they see someone they like in NCAA they won't hesitate to approach him for signing. |

August 15 so they have time to sign him in the summer. No need to do it earlier. But he may take a temporary AHL deal until then if Comets need him for their playoff drive. |

I would imagine Sven will get bought out unless they can trade him. |

Just saying, if he’s a player they want to sign, that’s his leverage. I mean, if you are Lockwood, how much opportunity do you see to crack this all star roster? |

Yeah, just saying I don’t think it will be the Rafferty/Teves special (or Boeser, Hughes etc) |

I hope they take a look at Julius Nattinen, playing in Liiga. 23 year old former 2nd round draft choice of Ducks.
Could be a nice upgrade at 3LC. |

Savings for buying out Sven are 523 333, rather see them buyout players that save millions. |

Canucks couldn't tighten things up in the 3rd. They need to eliminate time and space without taking penalties. That's what got them in Columbus. |

Surprised by a lot of the posts, mostly because the Canucks have actually locked up leads all year(for a change). It’s maybe more of a backbreaker that way, they have dine it and are faltering. As for not playing quinn much n the 3rd, it seems like what theyve done all year and hung on so im a lot less worried about that then i am about team confidence and goaltending(and team confidence in goaltending for that matter) |

The penalty on Sutter was a very poor call so there is that but still...no excuse to kill it off. The Roussell penalty deserves him a tour in the press box. He's been invisible for 4-5 games anyways. |

Quinn took that hit by the CBJ player he looked shaken after. Was a bit of a dirty hit but they have to find ways to deal with those. |

Hopefully the day off, a practice, and home ice will reset things for the boys. I wonder, if they go with Demko on Wednesday, how short is his leash going to be? LD looked calmer back there... |

His savings are 1.6 mil this year if they buy him out in june

Was just about to post this. Thanks Vantel.
SB is obviously getting bought out this summer. Unless JB can trade him, which he wont be able to do.
That savings of $1.6 goes to Markstrom..... |

He did for most of the game but also let in some weak 3rd period goals. Gonna be a tough call for Green lol |
