Bill, I’m not a big fan of Ghost. Sure, I love what he can do in the offensive zone, but cringe when he’s on defense. All-in-all, I think that limits him to third line pairing and PP which I’m fine with. But, What is the story on him? Healthy scratch? He’s back from his conditioning at the Phantoms. Is he 100%?. They’ve got to get him back into playing some games. I would think playing against the Rags would be a good test? - leon neon
When a team is playing as well as the Flyers are, any coach is going to be hesitant to tweak the lineup and put in a player who has been rehabbing an injury. When he's healthy and playing well, his defensive issues are overblown.

If he were supplying any kind of offense I would agree. But since he is most definitely not, his below average defense becomes much more pronounced.
A subtle point is that when you do it the old fashioned way, you increase the tempo with each verse so that it seems to build urgency.

They should make it a requirement for any fan purchasing a ticket and attending a home game to have to go to a class on the proper way of doing the "Let's go Flyers" chant or they will be denied entry. Perhaps some kind of verbal test give in performing the chant. Then they can be green listed for a period of time. They should also have spotter in the rink to make sure everyone is doing it correctly with random testing of fans. Anyone caught performing the chant with the wrong cadence should be immediately removed.

Before his injury, while not putting up many points, his transition game in moving the puck and beating pressure was very good. That in itself leads to offense.

I look at the bottom line. In 41 games he has 5 goals and 7 assists. 4 goals and 2 assists at even.
In his last good year when he had 13 and 52 his shooting % was 5.9%. So far this year his % is 6.8% which is actually the second highest of his career.
As a proud American, I can honestly say I hate the Rangers more than any other team in sports.
However, I actually like most of the players from that 1994 Oil Rags team. For some reason, I was able to cheer for Messier, Leetch, and Richter. Heck, I even cheered for Tikkanen, Amonte, Graves, and Kovalev.
But (frank) Jeff Bekeboom. - jmatchett383
Turn in your Flyers fan card. I have never and will NEVER cheer for the Rangers.....

That tells me he just isn't getting shots. - MBFlyerfan
He's still at a point where he needs to improve his confidence offensively. It's taking far longer than hoped for and I understand anyone who is ready to give up on the player but I'm not there yet. Gostisbehere's puck skills and transition play makes the team better and can be a key to winning. He needs to make sure his knee is fully rehabbed so he has confidence in his mobility.
No, I was more afraid of us having to play Ray Emery for 3 games. Mason and Lundqvist played about the same that series, I'd even say Mason outplayed him. The Rags were just a better team. Hell, in two of the game we won (2 and 6), he played pretty badly. I'm not saying he was bad then, but he didn't seem unbeatable either as he once did.
Same with Brodeur, I never feared him after 2004 even though he beat us in 2012. - jmatchett383
It's like when the flyers have a lead and then they have to play defense, they never really do it and the no lead is insurmountable
tough game. we really need the top 6 to produce tonight. hopefully we get the usual solid effort from the bottom 6 guys. we need to see G, Jake,Coots, Hayes and TK really up on their skates. if we win the first game in regulation, the weekend is safe.

I know. Out of all the things though we could troll the Flyers today about, "bad defensive zone coverage" seems to be the one that would be the most likely to bite us.
We will just focus on getting the puck past Carter Fart tonight and call it a night.

Oh, the Flyers defense and goaltending of the past 30 years is littered with tales of woe. I'm just saying that Lundqvist didn't seem as unbeatable after 2010.
