Don’t forget there’s another team shooting, too - with a couple (Kane .422 and Toews .490) of pretty good SO ...uhhh..shooters.

How can he be what was it 33W 24L and 31 out of 62?

Did anyone else see how awful Gus was for Calgary last night? I thought that NHL teams have scouts.
- Dieselhead

I read on here that Stan shoulda got waaaaay more than a 3rd for Gus.

62 shots faced in 57 shoot outs seems a bit low.

Calgary had Gus on the ice for overtime. Calgary lost in overtime. Calgary thank you for the 3rd rounder. And now, the new Blackhawks defense in the Post-Gus era. How much will it improve ? So far, no Gus in previous 4 games. Only one bad period, that was against the Blues. Hawks defense shows improvement, but let's see where the next batch of games leads us. Maybe this was the shot in the arm that The Hawks needed ? Maybe so, we still have lots of games remaining, and we are gonna find out.

And that St. Louis game had Seeler in instead of Carlsson. I have seen enough of Seeler in a Blackhawks sweater, hope JC has too.

What's the verdict on Nylander last night? Star or bum (as you all know it is one or the other)?

Not fair to make a 21 yr old a bum. He's basically got the same NHL experience as Boqvist.

- rpeters01

Compared to Bovist he's a bum.

I did, but I don't know if I would call it awful, probably more like 'routine 56 play' .... and while he was -2 that was because he was on the ice for one of Calgary's goals for. And 3 against (ouch).

There is a reason he was a waiver wire guy ... and what waiver wire guys ever actually work out? If you're relying on them for any sort of positive impact, then chances are your team has bigger issues.

How can you possibly deduce this, Ogi? I honest to God, never heard one rumbling from any source that indicated he was a tool from inside the locker room, or anywhere else. If he was a jerk, it was the best held secret of the season.
- gabriel

Deduced reasoning.

I listen to his comments, I read his quotes, and I watch as he hops from team to team, never able to find a home.

Careful, the next 4 games are all winnable.
- scottak

Would not be shocked if they went 3-1 and climbed back into things a bit here. When we want them to win they can't handle the pressure, and when we want them to lose they go ba!!S out and win. Then we'll get stuck at the bottom of the lottery and have to hope that Stan gives Gary a handy dandy to move up again so we can get someone to come in and help us next year

Kane and Toews both have said he's missed in the locker room so who know's. Seems odd that someone who was a problem would be mentioned as being missed by your two franchise players

Im guessing its more on the management, and how Lehner has that twitter voicing out his displeasures to the public. Those are best kept in-house, especially if its about your team

He suffers from a total lack of self-awareness. He is acting all pissy because they never offered him a contract.

he's gone. Woohooooo

So who makes up the Hawks goaltending tandem in 2020/2021?

Precisely my point. If you're modus operandi is to keep fans in the dark, then fans have the right to question what you're actually doing. I'm not clamoring for exact numbers. Perhaps a little insight as to why, would suffice. Years ago, the Hawks had Dominik Hasek on their team. Next instant, he was gone. One of many reasons listed at the time, was that he was having difficulty with our language. The Hawks prove time and again, that nuance is not their forte. A "family member" who admits to the world he has had internal struggles? And, to actually critique a floundering and poopty team in public, when asked? You must be kidding!
- gabriel

I remember the Hasek thing. As I remember they had terrible goal tending the year before and found Chevier who played well for them. Then somehow they got Hasek the next season but told him he was #2. He knew he was better, made a lot of noise and they dumped him. Then Chevier sucked and they looked stupid when Hasek turned out all world. Sure they wanted a do over on those moves. That's how I remember it?

I've never gotten the impression that 19 and 88 are given to bad-mouthing other players, even if there was tension or a problem. I think they are too savvy and seasoned for that. That's not saying it's on Stan and that's not saying there wasn't something with 40 in the locker room. I think Lehner tends to voice his feelings more and may be less PC, which is one of the reasons why the press likes him.

Keith is highly competitive, and so is his will to win. Have you ever heard him throw a teammate under the bus?,
- LAHawk

Not a specific teammate, but....Was it last year or the year before when he mouthed off about this not being a developmental league. While technically correct, it's not a great attitude to have when the team has a rookie or young player that they want to pair with him to learn from his "amazing" example, skill, work ethic, decision making and knowledge of the game.....
