I don’t disagree about Kampf, particularly, but do 4th liners often do anything meaningful that you can really notice on TV?
Other than the occasional good shift in the offensive zone, if they’re doing their job, it’s in a good defensive effort - mostly noticeable (again, on TV) if they screw up. - StLBravesFan
Stan signed Kampf and JC coached him, that’s all we need to know. Kampf is a bust. |

I'm actually scared to see Subban in front of this defence. World class goaltending is needed every night just to make it past the second period. |

I have always liked Kampf as a fourth line player, however it seems like he has regressed this year, or at least no improvement from last year. Is it me, or are others seeing the same? - Angotti
Agree. Carpenter is a big upgrade at 4C. It seem like when he get the puck on his stick in the offensive zone he skates away from the net. If he is back next year it should be 5C or 4W. He is where offense goes to die. |

Lundqvist at $8.5M? Are you sure you want this for the Hawks? I believe the Rangers would gladly do this though. |

Lundqvist at $8.5M likely isn't playing anywhere. |

Kampf is a waste... but let’s not forget nylander and how big of a jerk *** he is... two wasted roster spots that enviably need more talent and production |

Nylander has more upside then kampf. Kampf should be in the ahl doesn't do much of anything well except he us decent on the pk other than that not much. |

Well one thing that he does that most 4th liners don't get a chance to is he's a regular (and is effective) on the PK. Plus he's a backcheck specialist.
I guess though that isn't to say that as a forward, a team might want more.

Another good game by Colliton
He put his players in the best spot to succeed
Even as he benched Nylander, he didnt panic and start rotating Kampf/Carpenter in the top 9
Instead, he double shifted Kane and used Saad/Cagguila as well
When he reinserted Nylander, it was back in his regular spot with shortened shifts - and to spell Kane for his double shifting
Well done and the results showed - PatShart
1 out of 129 isn’t something that he should be proud of. |

Kind of hard to argue that the Hawks window has closed because of the age of the core. They looked pretty fair tonight. - -Doh-
The core isn’t, and hasn’t been, the problem. It’s the supporting cast that has been less than ... good. |
