Whoa hold the phone.

You can’t give Grundstrom that slack and not Sandin

- Dozzer

You can and you will if your sole purpose is to convince the HB world that the glass is half empty.

It's like a perpetual loop of the Doug and Wendy Whiner skit from SNL.

He’s reaching that age where GMs would rather give the icetime to guys they drafted, rather than a guy they acquired as a trade throw-in.
- Atomic Wedgie

Basically.

My guess is he'll be in europe on his next contract.

Real teams fold like a cheap lawn chair when faced with adversity and in a playoff spot with 18 games to go in the season.

Quitting: it's what winners do.

Tampa shoulda blown it up after last year.

He obviously has one set of standards for the players he likes and another for the ones he doesn’t. It’s pretty transparent. If only he could see that.

I saw it with Komarov.

I still did it.

I would do it again.

But I knew I was unhinged.

That’s not the dumbest thing I have heard today.

Not eligible for playoffs, but stopgap until Muzzin or Rielly returns.

No, seriously.

If I am the Leafs I would look at it.

I don't think I see the motivation from Phaneuf's perspective

It seems early to be into the tequila. I think it makes you cranky.

Holl has been performing very well as a 5/6 guy, and doing the role passably in a #4 capacity. By the way, he was also a 2nd round pick since this is somehow important to your arguments.

I'm going off memory here, but Grundstrom always projected to have a ceiling as a 3rd line player if he made the NHL. He had some physicality to his play, and he had an NHL calibre shot.

Just to round out that Muzzin trade:

Durzi projected as a possible PP2 QB and the potential to be a top-4 guy, but there was a lot of doubt that that would ever come to pass. He had a long way to go and a short time to get there, so to speak. This year, as an offensive defenseman, he didn't really light it up on the Reign and was being passed by other prospects in the system.

If I recall the revised post-draft projections on Bjornfot, he was adjusted to be considered a potential second pair guy, so that would be good for LA if he gets there - which will probably take a few years, so lets' say by 2022 or maybe 2023 he makes it to the 2nd pair.

The Leafs had Muzzin last year, this year, and continuing beyond. He is providing value NOW which is what we want.

This is not a bad trade to make. It's all about where you are with your team, your development, your needs. Sometimes the farm is more important and sometimes the active roster is more important.

Right now I'd take Muzzin over Grundstrom, Durzi and Bjornfot.

I'd also take Holl over Grundstrom.

A little dramatic. The players quit many times this season.

Maybe Dubas will give him every penny he has left in available cap space? Could be a decent little payday for less than 20 games

And to take it one step further ....

There seems to be a random connection between the ones he likes being the ones Dubas has traded away and the one's he dislikes being the ones Dubas has acquired.

This applies to players, prospects, and generally any decision.

If you say it, at least she won't be unpleasantly surprised to go along with disappointed.

Of course, I can only guess that that is true.

I’m back because I’m unable to work. I got diagnosed with epilepsy about 5 years back and it’s blown up my life. Can’t work in road construction as a project manager when you’re not allowed to drive (rightfully so considering the nature of my seizures). But since the meds aren’t taking I can’t work now and it’s hospital visit after hospital visit to prep for brain surgery. Spent two weeks in an epilepsy ward in January... man that sucked.

Funny thing is... all those years you guys kept saying I had brain damage and I actually do!!!

If only we could trade Grunstrom for Holl.

Can't win with Holl on your bottom pair, so we have to get rid of him somehow.

- Aetherial

don't have to worry about Holl on the bottom pair - currently he's the Leafs #1
