Dubas' drafting and developing looks top notch. Mikeyev looks great as a freebie as well - RogerRoeper
I think some people forget just how young this team still is
Dubas is only just getting the ball rolling |

Muzzin is good, but he’s not going to carry a deflated team |

That happens to all teams who go for it in the playoffs. It’s not nice to see but losing UFAs is part of it.
Maybe Dubas will be able to get a late pick for his negotiating rights still? - Dozzer
Never know. A 5th for that at most.
I female dog about it every year. I don't see the Leafs winning even a round any of the last 3 years. I get everyone is excited they won the game last night but my memory is long. |

Yeah they are way younger than the teams viewed as bigger cup threats. People need patience. |

They are losing in 7 games. It's not like they are getting swept. |

even with muzzin out weeks, still should have traded barrie at the deadline.
but genius dubas traded all his marlies vet d's harpur and schmaltz excluding gravel instead, S-M-R-T.
calls up rosen who is a career -6 as a leafs defender, who's in the on-deck circle? kivihalme? sent gravel back down the same day he called him up.
all this while still sitting in a playoff spot. |

If Keefe can get this team to the playoffs with 3 of his top 6 defense out in March then he would be a candidate for coach of the year normally.
However Tortorella has made that a no contest |

They traded away first rounders. They have few picks. Those are assets that are part of packages for good defensemen. Having said that they should improve with age to some degree. |

So you think the leafs should have been sellers? Cause that would send a msg to the players that could be taken in a very negative way considering how young this team is. |

They need something to “rally around”
Perhaps the injuries will provide the required kick in the ass - mr.sir
Well most of that d was in the marlies line up when they won their calder cup.
So, thats not bad, no? |

It will be ok if it translates to the NHL.
Sparks was the goalie on that championship team and look how that turned out.

Well, maybe.
Specially with the way the played. .i thought their overall play was good. Would have been hard fought loss.
But we could recoup the points later down the road. Just not too far down. |

Rosen is the 7th D-Man in practice
Dermott-Holl
Sandin-Barrie
Marincin-Liljegren.
Rosen - PatC80
No 52 will block a shot in practice tomorrow. Then he'll be out for at least a year. My hope anyway. |
