I do believe that as a team, we played great. But jack Johnson is so terrible that he was able to suck the win out of them tonight. Amazing.

We may miss the players on D..but to be honest we are truly missing jake. Having two entirely dominant and dynamic offensive lines really changes how teams play us. With games getting tighter and tighter, one line teams really get exposed.

I thought they had a lot of possession, but I didn't see a ton of great chances. I felt LA got to most of the rebounds. All the east/west stuff looks pretty, but won't work without guys driving the net.

We had them doing the men’s league scramble in front of the net 3-4 times, hit the post 2-3 times etc. I do agree with you that we couldn’t find the rebounds well but they had a bunch of decent initial shots, too.

Simon tied for second in shots with 4 (1 behind Horny) in just 7:29. Why is he shooting so much? Who does he think he is? His muffin to the breadbasket of a stickless goalie ended that opportunity. I usually advocate for shooting as much as possible, but in Simon's case, I'd rather he deferred unless he has a tap-in. Not to rag on the guy because he had a good game in such a limited role.

At least the coaching staff has the good sense not to keep playing him top line minutes. Now if they could just transfer this revelation to a defenseman who shall go nameless...

Watch us slip to 4th in the Metro and have a first round matchup with the Craps.

That's two games in a row they deserved to win. JJ was really bad in all zones. Rikki was noticeably good...alot. Just f'n try him there with Tanger, Sully, you stubborn fvck hahah

I did a quick run through of the replay and in comparison with Naturalstat it seems like another game where the Pens were the far better team, couldn't break the goalie and lost because of one bad play.

That sum it up?

Pretty much, but you forgot to blame all the worlds evils on Jack Johnson.

He should be bumped down though, Rikki has good games and gets scratched JJ doesn't even get bumped down. It's ridiculous. Cannot wait for Dumo to be back, it'll be the biggest addition with JJ going to 3rd pair alone haha

I know it's one game, but I kinda wish they traded for Lewis from LA he looks like a grinder who would have done well in the bottom 6. Side note I hear Thornton is upset that SJ didnt trade him during the deadline to a contender (he wanted to be traded with Marleau so we probably lead the race). I think originally JR had a deal in place for both, but SJ asked for too much.

We definitely did not need Lewis haha we have a lot of depth players. What we really need is Dumo, Marino and Guentzel.

I actually think Dumo/Marino out is a much bigger hurt than if it was just Guentzel.

How many times did JJ (frank) up the flow of the O-zone last night? ...and the 2nd goal against is on him.

All of the Pens 5 on 5 underlyings are pretty nuts last night, with Sids line being the "worst".

The two players that stood out to me the most in a good way were Sheary and Rikky.

Yeah, Sheary was all over the kings with his speed creating chances and turnovers. I legit forgot how fast he was. If he can bring that every game that line is going to be great with Zucker on the left. Rikky was also great, too bad that means Trotman is in next game.

I can still see him fumbling the puck with 3 minutes left in the offensive zone to disrupt our attack. Letang gives him the puck on his stick, easy pass to receive but somehow it turns into a grenade, kings steal it and go the other way.

You can actually see our players avoid passing it to him because they know its probably going to end our attack. I dont understand playing him at all. The only reason I can think of is that they are padding his stats with Letang the most they can so they can trade him in the offseason.
