Niice haha good setup. How's that Bruins/Flames game?
- 668710

Just finished. Calgary was barely holding on for the 12 or so minutes, but pulled through in the last 90 seconds to seal it.

Those Stanley cup lines would be awesome. That’s some serious depth.

ZAR-Bjugstad-Rod all scratched. If that actually happens that all 15 are healthy, I think Simon would have trouble getting that spot on Blueger's line with ZAR and Bjugstad as options.

I don't understand the insistence of playing Rust on the left side. He is in a prolonged slump at the moment and it started when he was moved to left wing. The exact same thing happened last year. I think a pattern is developing.

I don't have a problem with it in the short term. I think long term you would prefer him and Horny on separate lines given their shot prowess.

If McCann returns healthy he can play LW on the geno line or C the 3rd line with Horny on the right side. You could move Marleau, Simon, Tanev up and down the lineup.

I personally wouldn’t scratch Simon. I think the coaching likes him. Good skater and hockey IQ. Very coachable too.

I'm not going to be convinced ZAR's spot is a given coming back either. We have 6 weeks left to see how this plays out. Who knows when he even comes back.

I think ZAR has a better chance of playing on the Blueger line than Simon. Any other line, I'd give Simon the edge, but he hasn't been good defensively. Bjugstad might also go over ZAR though.

Sully loves him some ZAR. I think he gets his job back when he's healthy. Can't score to save his life, but his PK ability is pretty good. Sully gonna love a good defensive specialist.

That reminds me. This Boston college connection thing...maybe that's why Sully wanted Rodrigues?

Is there a site or chart that tracks players stats at one wing vs the other. I’d be curious to see offensive stats for rust and guentzel on each wing.

For as well as they did at the trade deadline, they failed to get a goalie. Lehner went for cheap, too.

Yea that's odd. Is Mrazek out still too?

Edit: Just read both out longer term. That was dumb of them.

Trocheck and Skjei are great pickups for them and will help them in the long-term.

Vatanen was a waste of time. They didn't give up much, but it was a wasted rental move. I'm not saying getting a goalie was an easy move to make, but that should have been their priority over Vatanen before getting Vatanen.

I won't be shocked if they finish below the Rangers the way things are headed.

Yea definitely agree with this. Also by dumb of them I meant not getting a goalie.

Last season I felt ZAR was replacement level, and nothing to get excited about. THIS season is a whole different story... up until he got hurt, I thought ZAR had easily earned himself a regular spot in the lineup, wherever Sully could plug him in... mostly bottom 6 I mean.

The last time Simon was demoted, when we picked up Zucker, he was back on the top line after two periods. I look for the same thing to happen here.

My Sheary-Crosby-Simon line was intended as a joke, but don't be surprised if it happens. Maybe before the end of the California trip.
