Not Marchessault, why people think the Knights are moving him is foolish, they aren't. Botterill made a last minute push to get Tyler Johnson
- SABRES 89

I'm all for any kind of improvement, but I'm not a huge fan of Johnson, plus I thought he played wing the past few years?

Tough break for Olofsson on both chances there.
- Michael Ghofrani

And the chance he ripped wide at the buzzer
He’s gonna be thinking about those tonight

Unfortunately there was no margin for error

Get em next year

- jcragcrumple

Get like playoff hockey and i think we had better quality chances then them, though it was closer. Too bad the brain fart by Miller was the difference. Oloffson could have had 3 or 4 goals in the last few minutes. A couple of tips just hit their goalies pad. No luck luck tonight and very shady refereeing.

Realistically, not making the playoffs but need this type of effort in the next 19 games. As we all know, lines 1 and 4 are tremendous. Lines 2 and 3 (not including lazar) are garbage. Have to figure that out next year.

I wouldn’t trade Risto btw, analytics hate him (though I think he’s been better this year with that) but his toughness wouldn’t be replaced easily.

Happy I didn’t hate McCabe tonight

No, they decided to not trade in the division
It’s that simple

But moving on to whether or not he should move Mitts this summer...

He was drafted with 1C rating/potential
Which he obviously hasn’t fulfilled... YET
Why?
-the leap from College straight to the NHL was too much for him
-he hasn’t (at least to this point) dedicated himself in the off-season like he needs to

So, if he hits the gym, and works on his skating...
I don’t see any reason he can’t still be a really good top6 player- even if it’s on the wing

He still has elite talent
If his effort to improve can match that,
then he’s gonna be pretty sweet

How do u view Mitts?

- jdfitz77

My fascination with Mitts has 200% changed to a fascination with Cozens. Mitts is soft to me, Cozens is anything but soft

Guess I’m wrong then. Surprised no one has brought up JT compter with the game winning goal and an assist. Another Ryan oreilly trade residual, right?

Very immature. Can he grown-up and become dedicated to his craft?
Timid, unsure, no confidence
Slow
Weak

I think he needs considerably more time than a mere 1/2 season in Roch.
I'd like for him to stay there for next season.

I'm looking forward to Kahun but leaving yourself with a center depth chart of an injured Eichel, Larsson, and Lazar isn't the best way to make a run at the playoffs

Salt on the wound.

More disappointed with another Ristolainen poop show

I kinda liked their game tonight. I had fun watching. Risto played well and tough and no stupid penalties. I’ll take this version of him if he’s sticking around.

Olo was unlucky. It happens. If he’s always going to find himself in the good spots like tonight, with his shot, he’s gonna score a lot.

The Loggers was a pain to play against and scored.

I didn’t hate Risto. But if he can impress someone else in the offseason. By all means, send him.
Monty is the one I thought could’ve been better.

Ristolainen played 2 mins less than dahlin at 5v5 and was on the ice for nearly double the shot attempts against.

The version of the Sabres that's a bonafide playoff team doesn't have him on the roster.

Not really. Mittelstadt wasnt available according to everything I've heard. I believe that would have changed the offer drastically in our favor

The Stars team stats are bonkers

https://www.nhl.com/stars/stats

Leading scorer has 48 points. Second leading scorer has 35!

Check out the save percentages of their goaltenders, and you'll find the answer.

Whether he brings in a Center or winger doesn’t matter to me at this point. Our middle 6 still needs to be blown up. We have a viable 1st line and 4th line and nothing else.

We’ll see what JB can do with him. Seems as though we’ve been trying to ship him out for a long time. But Botts could wait someone out, or were stuck with him. Only two more years left.

At this point you may be looking at just picks and moving his cap hit. Then try to use your minor surplus to address other areas of need.

I just cant believe botterill and probably murray turned down (probably) good offers for Risto.

The cat's out of the bag and GMs must have evolved and we're never going to get anything for him now
