I like Sheary’s effort but he was noticeably timid against the Jets. Checking up and coasting, avoiding contact. Simmonds has looked strong and was relentless in the first period with Skinner. I like that line thus far, but their erratic, tenuous play might not compliment Johansson’s style to slow the game down and have puck control. Then again, might compliment each other very well. Too early too say.

I certainly understand the appeal of that style of play, but I don't think it impacts results over 82 games the way people think it does. Not anymore anyways.

I think it’s time we change & call them the “GOL” line
It’s been our 2nd best line all year
Not bad for having 3 guys on it that 90% here have said they don’t belong in the league

Bring back Girgs & Larsson... MULTI YEAR DEALS

For me, I would like to see him add much more physicality to his game.
6'6" - 220lb winger should not be playing like Bambi. Learn to be a beast and play that way to destroy other players in route to the net, stay there, beat the hell out guys along the wall...dominate physically...no, no need to punch in the face...but, bonus points if he did!

- IonSabres

Tage is a skill player in a big man's body. If you want him to play the way you described, you should trade him now instead of hoping for him to become something he is not.

Friedman said Buffalo laid some groundwork on deadline day and won’t be surprised to see them make some moves in the offseason. This via the Tim and Sid show on Sportsnet.

My two guesses:

Anderson and Marchessault

It’s not an excuse
When you’ve made the best offer & the team doesn’t make the trade with you,
there’s nothing more that can be done

Good grief
You’re just being ridiculous now

- jdfitz77

Up the offer...it's called enticing, negotiating.
Overpay a bit, yes...especially when it us a position if critical need and the player fits perfectly...production, co tract term, contract AVV, age.
God God, stop with the excuses
It us getting really, really old.

It's not so much that I think sheary is good if good is defined as say top 6 or whatever.

Its more that, in terms of overall impact, Simmonds is among the worst in the NHL

- Michael Ghofrani

He’s looked good so far
Let’s see if he can sustain this energy level the rest of the year
It’s easy to not do so when your team is constant getting whooped like Jersey was all year

Hopefully he’s been able to do lower body work. He doesn’t have to be a power forward he just can’t get pushed off the puck so easily. I still think there is an intriguing skill set there in a middle 6 role when he adds 10-15 pounds

Frolik vesey lazar larsson girgensons simmonds

All on a similar level and I dont think all of them will be leaving

- ieetbred

In order to keep:

Larsson/Girgs
Simmonds (if he keeps this up)
Lazar
Vesey
Frolik

*Larsson & Girgs are absolute “must keeps” imo

Not Marchessault, why people think the Knights are moving him is foolish, they aren't. Botterill made a last minute push to get Tyler Johnson

I understand that too. That’s why guys like Kaleta are retired and guys like Ennis are are still thriving. There is a need for a balance of both finesse/speed guys and grinders. What I like about Simmonds is that he still has the potential to still do both. Just not for 4-5 million.

2-2!!! End of Two

I was saying they (Larsson & Girgs) could be good players in the right role for 3years now,
when most said they shouldn’t even be in the league

And when many this summer said Okposo should be buried, i said he was actually a decent player in his new role (just with a terrible salary)

Your rhetoric is what’s getting old
If you’ve made a better offer than the one that was accepted, you’ve already offered to overpay

They weren’t gonna trade in the division
Sorry u can’t accept that
