Bravo!
Tage too.
Would benefit them both.

- IonSabres

Having watched a lot of Amerks hockey this year, I'm not sure Tage has much more developing to do. I expect he'll start there to shake the rust off and then be a full time NHLer thereafter. He was so much further above his competition this year...

Remember folks saying Bailey looked like a man amongst boys a couple years back in the AHL? Tage would push Bailey down a line with his play...he really was exceptional before he got hurt. Defensively much better as well, some of that due to the level, but still.

Wonder if he can join the Amerks for the remainder of this year as his 19/20 obligation of OHL/NHL has expired for the year? Stupid rule.
- SDSabre

He can join Rochester on ATO after Lethbridge season commences. Sexton has already said that is the plan for both himself and Pekar.

However Lethbridge has a good team (mostly due to Cozens) so they may have a long playoff run. Time will tell.

If anyone wants to read up on a few guys the Sabres could potentially be looking at.

Ironic I was reading this earlier today because I was thinking about the Euros as possible free agents this year. I was checking out the college crop as well.

Turunen sounds like a legit prospect we should look into. Julius Nattinen is another guy. 23 year old center who was a 2nd rd pick of Anaheim in 2015.

Joe Thorton is a UFA. Yes, he's old and slow. But he can still pass. He could set Skinner up for 30. How about a 1 year X $2.5 million deal on July 1st to help apprentice Cozen/Mitts on being a centerman?

This assumes Botts's does not make the trade that we all want for a 2C.

- SabreWest

Didn't Joe Thornton have good things to say about Ralph earlier this season? I thought he was quoted talking about him.

No can do. Cozens is either back in Lethbridge next year or on the Sabres.

Are those hus only options, or is College one? He signed his ELC, so does that eliminate him from playing there? I suspect it does.
What about other pro leagues like in Sweden

For me, I would like to see him add much more physicality to his game.
6'6" - 220lb winger should not be playing like Bambi. Learn to be a beast and play that way to destroy other players in route to the net, stay there, beat the hell out guys along the wall...dominate physically...no, no need to punch in the face...but, bonus points if he did!

Close, it’s WHL or NHL.
- Pegullaville

Sorry, meant to say CHL (was going talking about all players from the 3 junior leagues, while simultaneously talking specifically about Cozens)

This is cozens last year of junior hockey. It’s AHL or nhl next year.

He should’ve played his 9 games at right wing to ease him into the nhl. See what the kids got. His injury I’m sure played into that.

Next year in camp .... have tage and cozens battle for that 3rd line RW.

I may have the rule wrong but cozens won't turn 20 till February next year and I believe to be AHL eligible he'd have to turn 20 by 12/31 of that year.

And that is fine. I think if it’s juniors or NHL ....... they 100% give him a shot at making the team.

At that point .... how much does he have left to learn at the WHL level?

oh for sure, hes dominated the WHL. Only 1 player in the entire league with a better EV primary points/60

I think he'll be NHL ready, and put in a much better position to succeed than Mittelstadt ever was

Actually a good post, credit where credit is due.

Judge each player according to their play in camp/preseason. Rushing is when they fall short, but you force it.

- RhinoFan

A player either has it or he doesn't. It's one thing to keep a guy down in juniors after you draft them, but having to groom a North American player extensively raises a few question marks. Mittelstadt and Botteril banked hard on him being ready to take over as 2C and they both look like asses for it. He should have kept his head down and played a year in Rochester and not blackmailed the team, doofus.
