I still can't believe we got Foote. This dude is top line material. Coleman was a 3rd rounder, career AHLer. And we got Foote and a 1st.
Our team is going to be amazing in a few years. - Leniwm1
I’ve never seen someone undersell Coleman this poorly
Shame on you |

Lets hope Cory finishes out this year strong. He's a decent candidate to be bought out in the summer so i hope he doesnt end on the same trajectory he's been on the last few years. No better team to get back into it against than Detroit, a good chance to get back into the win column, so i hope he puts on a good performance |

hope we lose 3-2 with Cory making 30 great saves while we don't continue to drop in the draft. I want him to do well, but we can't keep getting points while the Ducks and Sharks tank on. Big difference in picking 3rd vs 7th overall.. - MartysBetter88
Dont think i agree with this. It seems is pretty consensus that Laf is a tier of his own at 1, then a big drop to Byfrield who is still considered #2 but that gap is closing from all reports, then theres a big tier 3-9 where all of these players seem to be interchangeable and higher or lower depending on the person doing the ranking. Give me any of those studs in that tier, as long as we stay in the top 9 we're fine. In fact its not out of the question that Arizona drops off far enough to give us 2 top 9. Not likely, but its possible |

Loved Coleman trade (but he is a good player), LOVED greene trade (again a 2nd!! lol) heck even Simmonds trade was better than nothing, vatanen is meh..i liked "original offer" of the 2nd wayy better but I do like janne...as for draft I want Drysdale and Rossi (103 points insane) |

What would you like to see in this final stretch of games from the players and roster?
I want the Devils keep the Bratt-Zacha-Gusev line for the remainder of the season. They've looked good together in the small sample size. I don't get Zacha, why does he "play better" at the end of the season?
Man, if he can just stay consistant throughout a season it would be a big help. I thought he would project to be more like Mark Scheifele, late bloomer who would come to his own in year 4. Well, I was wrong.
Separate Nico and Palms and see what happens. I think Nico can drive his own line, so why not try Hughes at center with Palms. I don't know if Boqvist is the right person to flank Hughes left-side right now. Leave Boqvist in the AHL for now. Maybe just throw Wood on Hughes left for the remainder of the season.
As for Nico, put Kokkanen on Nico's left side and see what happens. Put Bastian on the right-side and see if he can finish off passes from Kokkanen and Nico (most likely not).
Have Zajac center Anderson and Merkley on the 4th. Ideally I would rather try McLeod here but Zajac ain't moving.
As for the defense, when Ty Smith and Kevin Bahl's junior seasons are done, bring them to the fold and let them get a coouple of games in if possible. Same thing with Walsh. Sign him and let him get a taste of the NHL.
Heck, if the Devils can squeeze Foote in for a couple of games that would be cool. To be honest I'm not sure the eligibility of junior players once their season is done. I just remember that Zacha managed to get a couple of games in once his junior career was done.

Anyone who tells you the gap is closing between Byfield and Laf is completely insane/trying to drum up hype for the draft. |

This is the same story line every year.
I remember this poop with Jack Eichel to Connor McDavid which was nuts.
Same thing with Nico and Nolan. Same thing with Hughes and Kakko.
It's like a recycling center.

I didnt say the gap between Laf and Byfield was closing. I clearly said Laf was #1 in a complete tier of his own then a big drop off, and i said it was closing between Byfield and the group at 3-9 On TSN yesterday they were talking about the top of the draft and they were saying multiple GMs have told them that they arent 100% sold on Byfield being solidified/locked as the #2 guy, and some teams could consider taking a Stutzle or even Holtz/Raymond over him. It seems completely wide open after #1. Byfield likely still goes 2 but hes not far ahead or a big gap from the cluster at 3-9
My main point im trying to make is that there isnt a huge difference or dropoff if we're picking 3 or 7 like someone else was trying to say. The dropoff from 9 to 10-12 is likely bigger than 3 to 7-9 |

From what I remember Patrick was the one most were talking about and many had going number 1 through the year and getting closer to the year and Nico was rising

gotcha. I don't really know all that much. I'd just rather have the 3rd shot than 7th at taking the bpa.. which may become more clear in the next few months. |

Ah I misunderstood. My bad. I think Drysdale is honestly my second choice in this draft without considering position. |

But what about Fredrik Claesson? |

Take BPA. That might be Drysdale, but drafting by position leads to mediocre selections. |

Forgot about that. He's lucky he never really had to play against Wilson otherwise he might have died. |

Bratt has been on fire since the coaching change. Small sample size but including the point tonight he's been playing at a 54 point pace since Hynes was let go |
