Agreed with both what you say and MJL say about those two.

For games or shifts you could see what should come with them over the next few years but they both hit walls that I think they can work through.

They’re the next generation expected to lead the way. If Farabee can go down, dominate, regain confidence, he’ll be back before we know it.

Don't worry, being the Flyers are actually doing this, you won't be criticized.
If you told 95% people on this board that the Flyers pooped ice cream, they'd ask what flavor.

But not speed.
- Landsbergfan

Cool down, they are building a team to beat the caps and blues. Speed is overrated.

That’s just MJL taking the flyers brass side again.

Where does Frost and Farabee fair against rookies like Gagne/Williams, Richards/Carter, Couturier/Schenn?

Patrick was never playing this year. It's March and he hasn't been cleared for contact. Missing an entire season due to migraines. Wonder how many times that has happened in the NHL. Has to be dozens.

What's your point here, Mr. Sarcasm? You'd be fine if he'd lost a season to something else? Like Forsberg missing a season because he just didn't feel emotionally ready to play and coming in to play in the playoffs? Is that what you're looking for? How many times has that happened in the NHL. Has to be dozens.

Agreed again.
What is exciting to me is seeing the possibilities for both of them through this season.

Farabee has on the wing. Frost at center hasn't.
- Feanor

Frost looked fine in his two-game recent recall. Played well in his first three games of his initial call-up and sporadically thereafter. With the exception of Saturday's game (where pretty much only Ustimenko showed up and the rest of the team left their legs on the bus), he's played well overall since going back down.

I think he's getting close to being ready.

How do they compare? They're younger in some cases, same age in others. Less physically mature in many cases. Apples to oranges in every case. All players develop on their own timetable, not someone else's and not by a prescribed formula.

Well I think you nailed it on the head. They’re not physically mature, which also means they’re not ready. We all know how disappointed some of the fans are with Nolan Patrick’s development but if you ask most of them, they’ll probably tell you that Nolan Patrick is leaps and bounds better than Morgan Frost was during his rookie year. Bumps in the road and all.

I'd add that Nolan was better than Farabee for his rookie year as well. The 2nd half of Patrick's rookie year was very, very good. He really found his game and was producing at a nice rate too. Patrick was physically more mature than both as well

Farabee has more points in fewer games as a 19 year old than Schenn had as a 20 year old.

The clown is personally offended that a 21 year old kid's hockey career is on hold because of a neurological disease. How dare that happen to him as a fan who hasn't seen a Cup since 1975. It's outrageous.

Hey, let's do the same thing but for Ewing's Sarcoma, and see how it sounds:

Lindblom was never playing again this year. It's March and he hasn't been cleared for contact. Missing almost an entire season due to cancer. Wonder how many times that has happened in the NHL. Has to be dozens.

Okay, this is a fair point because Schenn was another player that took time.

What I have to admit that I do like about Nate Thompson is he does have the hockey players look.

I do believe you have also pinned a bit for someone that could be inserted into the lineup that could defend his teammates. While he isnt a heavy fighter, Thompson will engage in that arena.

You would be correct.

I do want a bit of a tougher team. I wanted more depth. This isn’t the 2010 team with Pronger, Hartnell, Lappy or Carcillo. This isn’t the 2012 team with Simmonds and Grossmann. This isn’t the 2014 team with Ray Emery. The point is though, Fletcher checked off a couple boxes.

Is he getting the frame or are they just bunching up the net and throwing it in a fedex box? I need to know the effort level in Jersey.
