Patrick likely wont play with the Flyers until the last 5 games. Even if he is cleared for contact, he is likely going to go to the AHL for conditioning. Even then I think Im being a bit optimistic

This is an odd place

I'm not saying they're the same player, but this is pretty much the line that management fed to fans for the 2016 acquisition of Boyd Gordon, who only lasted 13 games before being demoted and subsequently retiring.

Again, I'm not saying they're the same player, as I think Thompson is a better overall player. But the rationale you provided for his acquisition could be applied to both equally.

Gordon turned out to not be that effective, even on the PK.

Word is that NT hasn't been great on the PK this year, either.

Even if he sucks, this year's team really could use more 'veteran presence', and NT's been on some pretty long PO runs before. 'Tis the season for intangibles.

Frost and Farabee aren't ready for NHL playoff hockey in my opinion. I agree that Grant is not ideal in a 3rd line center spot but he can at least play well away from the puck and in board battles and maybe he continues his hot shooting a little bit.

Agreed with both what you say and MJL say about those two.

For games or shifts you could see what should come with them over the next few years but they both hit walls that I think they can work through.

Farabee has had a lot of trouble find with his scoring touch. Even has missed open nets. Maybe it was just one game but everything I laid eyes on Farabee in Detroit, it seemed like he wasn’t strong on his skates. I saw him fall to his knees in transition at least three times.
