Crow can handle himself.

Considering that the hawks have smallish type d men coming into the team in the next few years would entertain signing edmonsun in the offseason and get a bigger d man with edge to his game?

So you'd prefer a 5'9" center over Drysdale?

As a 17 year old he made Team Canada World Junior team and Dale Hunter used him regularly. Marco Rossi had no chance of making that team and Quinton Byfield barely played when the competition ramped up.

It would be interesting to hear Hunter's opinion on who is going to be better - Drysdale or Bovqist.

I doubt the Hawks would pass on Drysdale even if it was to use him, Mitchell or Bovqist as a trade chip later.

- RickJ

Why all the debate? It's common knowledge that Stan will draft Yaroslav Askarov:

How can they trade him when he'll be signing with the Rangers?

OK, so what do we know, what do we think we know, and under the best of circumstances what will the Hawks team be next season? Will it be a contender? How many of the requisite pieces of a champion team is in place? We may not know the answer to those last two questions but the objective is to get closer to knowing.

What the 2020/21 lineup could be given the best case scenario of winning the draft lottery and selecting Lafreniere and signing Ian Mitchell and having Lafreniere and Mitchell both be not only ready for the NHL but both be in the running for Calder. But even then - will this lineup be enough to win the Cup?

Saad-Toews-Kubalik
Lafreniere-Dach-Kane
Cat-Strome-Nylander
Kampf-Carpenter-Highmore

Keith-Boqvist
deHaan-Murphy
Koekkoek-Mitchell
Carlsson-Seabrook

Crawford
Delia/???

The piece that pushes them over (and can't believe you forgot him) is Shalunov.

Stan will trade his 1st rounder for 2 #2's because he says they are hard to come by.

That's only if they win the draft lottery, which is unlikely.

Why would the Rangers do that when they know they can wait and sign him in August?

And I'll bet a buck they regret that at the end of their year.

Going to lose out because of goal tending. You make the trade, bite the bullet to win a cup.

Big mistake, bigger than any mistake of Stans at the deadline. I'd be pissed if i was a Cane's fan.

I would be more pissed having to be associated with BINGO as Cane fan.

Anyone else get a pit in their stomach when Kane responded "I don't know" to if he's interested in rebuilding with the Hawks. Boy if they trade Kane/Toews that would truly be the end of an era.
- catrisc

Yeah, but many on the board would be happy because we'd have lots of cap space!

And if they don't and Stan doesn't trade them, are they going to retire? Sit out and get suspended without pay?
- LAHawk

Bowman best be careful in dissing input from Kane and Toews. They have tremendous leverage with the fans. They could go to McD and/or Rocky and say they'll go public with complaints about Bowman unless he's gone. Stanbo isn't going to win that power struggle.

Who can blame him. The team is going nowhere right now. Stan can fix a big part of this and remove JC at the end of the season. This will be 3 years in a row with no playoff appearance. The team has zero identity. Something has to change besides the roster.

Not a blanket statement. Who will replace Stan? That is more important. Do not make a change for the sake of a change.

Laviolette. Hextall. Sharp. Chelios. Hunter. Mayers. Olcyk. Kathryn Tappen. Patrick Kane. Any of them would be better than Stanbo.

Yes, I would pass on Drysdale and take Rossi. There was the upcoming draft in 2007, with 5 guys in the mix to be picked #1. Uncle Dale had the first pick. I said Dale it MUST be Kane. People were laughing at me saying, one good hit and he will be laid out on a stretcher. You don't ever take a guy that fragile at #1. I argued, guess what people, the game is changing, the fighting and boarding are going extinct, and so are the small rinks such as Chicago Stadium. We need skaters who can maneuver in the bigger rinks, stick-handle, and find the back of the net. Any one of these guys can shoot into the middle of the goalie, but the best, by far, who can aim the puck, is Kane. Regarding Cozens vs. Dach. I felt that Dach was gonna disappear from the scoresheet too much. Hence, I liked Cozens and still do. Yes both should be good, but we will see how that turns out.

Lots to look forward to Hawks fans -

Core ages & starting goalie is 36 & has a history of concussions
We have a college coach - a VP from Baseball &
a GM who’s out of touch with the speed & reality of the NHL
A star in Kane who is playing with misfits - a Captain who can’t wait for summer & Duncan Keith who puts in 25 minutes a night & plays all out all the time.

Lehner on twitter letting everyone know money wasn’t mentioned & no offer ever made. Wow.

Another season down the tubes - a few good rookies in 8 -27 & 77.
An Aging Seabrook with 2 new hips & a new shoulder.
Feisty Andrew Shaw who now appears done.
Oh yes - & last in the Central hoping for a ping pong ball in June
Four goals in 20 minutes last night -
Wish I could see light at the end of a tunnel but I can’t 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

I wonder how Lehner is going to spin it after he signs a 7x7 deal somewhere...
