Dillon is light years better than Gus.

That and Seabs and really the rest of the top 4 did not age well except for Keith.

Went from having a stud top 4 to essentially just Keith with no replacements. If the Hawks were able to develop their own d-men (who was the best "developed D prospect" TVR?) and Stan did not hand Seabs that truck full of cash the Hawks would be in a much better position.

IIRC, van Riemsdyk was undrafted and jumped straight to the Hawks lineup after his NCAA career at New Hampshire. Don’t think he has spent much time at all in the minors.

The last developed D prospects who have spent time in the minors and made an impact were Keith and Hjalmarsson.

Say what you want about McD...he is not stupid. I think he will do fine. Pick a GM whose built a team from the ground up with a fickle fan base or expansion team mindset and there is your guy. GM for an original 6 team with a loyal fanbase and great infrastructure...in the third-largest market...it sells itself.
