In my household they’re known as Edz-No nights, and they are cherished.

I don't know if I have soured on Bowman however I do think a change is necessary.

Whether you like it or not he had a huge impact on the 2nd and 3rd cup teams. That cannot be denied. Yes, some here have their own narrative talking about potato chips and his supposed smug attitude. I will never understand those comments but most of us meet them with an eye roll.

I believe the time has come for a change. New energy, new life, a new perspective is needed and a change can be a positive thing. He has made good trades and bad ones...good draft picks and band ones...just like EVERY SINGLE GM in the game. For the most part, he has been a solid GM. I know it's tough for some of you to handle that statement but it is the truth. Hopefully, we see some changes this offseason.

One of my concerns about canning Stan is the non-hockey marketing guy who would pick his replacement.

Perfect examples of dumb hockey, Saad three feet inside the defensive blue line, tries to go between his legs, Seeler 5 feet inside the blue line, turns back, Hawks get hemmed in for a long time, end up icing it. Make the simple play and fight for the puck at center ice. I sound like my pee-wee coach.

I think McD knows the importance of a solid replacement for Bowman. He knows the products needs to improve.

I agree. Does he know one when he sees one?

Anyway, I said I'll be on board for canning Stan once somebody better (and available) is identified. Good chance said person exists somewhere, I suppose. But who?

I think JC is a good coach for the younger players. I'm really happy with the way Kubalik, Dach and Boqvist are playing (even though I don't think we should have burned a year off the ELC of the last 2). I don't expect the Hawks to really compete until the 21-22 season, so I'm ok with JC for 1 more year. Is there any chance JC could go back to Rockford? Obviously, we wouldn't get Lavi next year, but there is a veteran coach available every year. If Bowman lets JC finish his contract, maybe he would be willing to go back to Rockford. No other team would give him a head coach position after a mediocre showing in his first 3 years, so an AHL head coaching position may be ok with him, and I would much rather have him than King.

Thoughts?

- tvetter

Good question. Can’t remember if it was you who asked a few blogs ago who would be a good Hogs head coach if not King.

Honestly, Colliton was ideal and would’ve been great if the Blackhawks had let him continue in that role instead of promoting him so quickly.

Your idea sounds appealing but don’t know if it will ever happen. I like the logic, though, and would support this.

Say what you want about McD...he is not stupid. I think he will do fine. Pick a GM whose built a team from the ground up with a fickle fan base or expansion team mindset and there is your guy. GM for an original 6 team with a loyal fanbase and great infrastructure...in the third-largest market...it sells itself.

Two goals by defensemen - Hawks at the net.

It’s a simple game - not an easy game, but a simple one.
