So Ive been told.

Friendly reminder that despite me screaming at my tv telling the leafs to pick carter hart they picked korshkov.

Although I was also in favour of Tyler Parsons when that didn't pan out.

Then why doesn’t Marner?

It’s because he gets out muscled. Marner is a skater not a physical presence. I never said he wasn’t an all star just that he gets paid about 2 million a year too much. If you don’t think his agent used the Nylander fiasco to his advantage you’re fooling yourself.

- Dozzer

Agreed.
Once Dubie signed JT, it threw a wrench into the plan and all the kid studs agents eyes open real wide, they began salivating as the idea that now they'll be getting more.

And no people....Im not suggesting you dont sign JT. Love him. But....dammit these kids got greedy.
Mitch should have been at 9 - 9.5 per.

I once thought Franson would turn into a decent D for the leafs.

Gasp.....a decent 4 D.

Sometimes you lose big.

Signing JT sped up the "rebuild". No argument there, but with that said, I would want Dubas to do it again. You don't pass on getting someone like him.

I'm ok with that trade.
Same age, similar production, but Ritchie adds a lot more grit for the playoffs.
Heinen was meh - no big loss.
And we save more Cap room.

According to
@EvolvingHockey
Mitch Marner currently ranks 106th in Forward GAR, 72nd in xGAR, 184th in GAR60, and 128th in xGAR60

He is the highest paid F in the NHL this season in actual salary and ranks 7th in cap hit.
