He got 40 pts in 60 games, 24 goals this year. He can play up and down the lineup. He also performs well in the playoffs. I think he's worth it.
- BashCH

yeah he should fit well with the "blue-collar team" that are the Islanders.

So Romanov will not sign here if Kovy is traded to Boston for a conditionnal 2nd?
- MortChicken

Would you sign in Montreal if Kovy had been traded to Boston for a 2nd? I THINK NOT.

yeah I also highly doubt there's a link between the two. And MB's face said it all yesterday during the press conference... not a lot of sleep, and not a lot of hope either

the contract is based on a career season where his shooting % is nearly double his career average. he's on average a 30-35 points player. he's a less unhinged version of 2016 Andrew Shaw.

He only got these numbers playing first line minutes and having powerplay time.

Something he wouldn't get on a good team.

He's a better player than Shaw.

Probably less physical but overall more skilled.

How (frank)ing bad is the Atlantic for the Habs to still be within 6 points of the playoffs despite being as bad as they've been?

the remaining playoff "hopes" rely solely on Florida's and Toronto's failures

Do You have anything either good or positive to say about The Habs ? Geez seems like every blog is Negative and your blogs used to be so much fun to read ! now always negative ... Being a True Fan means being behind the team thru thick and thin, its called LOYALTY , the wonderful thing about life is we are given the right to make choices , we can choose to be true fans and stick with the team or exercise our right to choose another Team ... and by the way Kovalchuk will be back next year, and Bergy accommodated him OUT OF RESPECT , He loved Montreal the Fans and the team, not many want to go to Montreal, we should be happy when someone made such an impression on his teammates and wants to be a Hab

What about the CHOICE to voice the opinion that the current GM is driving the bus off the cliff?

I don't think he's done that terrible of a job in the last 2 years.

He's still catching up from his previous mistakes... and developing young players takes a few years.

But let's be honest, next season is his last chance. We need to see some significant improvement.

Oh I'm not saying I'm satisfied with his work overall.

He benefited from the Gauthier/Gainey years in his first few years, making the playoffs and winning a few rounds... and then he pretty much crashed the whole team.

I'm just saying I can't find much things to say against him in the last 2 years.... of course it will all depend on the kids he drafted. If they don't end up being good NHL players, it'll turn into an epic fail on his part.

Majority of the fanbase agree he should be fired ASAP along with the coach, president and assistant GM Timmins.

Joe Cox et Otto Leskinen sur la glace ce matin avec un chandail jaune sans contact. Noah Juulsen, Nikita Jevpalovs et William Pelletier s’entraînent avec les réguliers. Un retour pour Juulsen cette semaine?
