Yup, paying for it, and getting nothing, is a far better option
And don’t hand me the it was worth it to free up the $ to pay for Marner, not right now, that (frank)er tripped over his own feet Saturday. - Dozzer
The cap saving went towards Johnsson and Kapanen. The former spent most of the year on the IR... Just that kind of season. |

Teams are supposed to overcome injuries, not ride them as an excuse.
All players need to be held accountable for sub-par play. All of them. - UsernameUnknown
All players need to be held accountable. That doesn't mean they're all held accountable equally regardless of circumstance. If there's a list of team failures, Andersen is far lower on that list than the majority of the team, including it's coach and GM. |

What I meant by does it have to happen is does it have to be Doughty? No. Theres other Dmen who may fill that role.
Doughty just happens to be a guy who may be available and may want to come.
Purely guessing, something like Nylander, Johnsson and Liljegren for Doughty + 1 million retained might do it. - Aaron_85

Replace Liljegren with Dermott and it's perfectly fine. LA Kings retain 1.5 / 2 AAV.
Lose only a little bit of offense (Doughty could easily score 50 points playing with Rielly and passing to Matthews), gain a lot of defense, gain experience, gain leadership and actually save cap space. |

When you have solid information about who was available in trade, for which Leaf, THEN you can comment. Otherwise, you are forming an opinion with zero facts. - Aetherial

Thank you for once again having a discussion in bad faith with zero nuance or depth to the statistics.
You know that cherry picking SV% with zero context or deeper meaning does nothing for your already weak argument right? - JohnFergusonJr
"Nuance or depth to the statistics".
Other people the last few days have posted a number of other in-depth stats and they all show that Andersen has been weak.
You chose to ignore them.
You on the other hand have made two arguments buried in all your dodge-the-issue drivel, Neither of which contains even one actual fact relevant to 2020 Andersen.
1) His past 5 years he has been top - 10. (so (frank)ing what?)
2) You analyzed every goal and provided your biased opinion that nobody cares about because it is biased and nobody has the time. That post of yours was the comedy event of the year, by the way.
3-shots to your own Richard and you are still breathing? You must have Paciorrety-Weber-like powers of recuperation. |

Holland stole the show bud. - Byfuglien Ate Me
Vegas stole the show with all their moves, they're a very dangerous team.
Holland's moves are pretty overrated. He brought in some small, speed, skill players but I'm not sure that's what they needed. They added a lot of defensive liabilities. |

The money is the same. He can live in California in the offseason if he wishes.
Muzzin is a really good friend of his and signed long term.
He's got gas left in the tank and it's pretty doubtful he wants to waste the good years he has left on an obvious non-playoff team. 8 playoff games in 6 years is going to get frustrating really quick when it turns into 8 playoff games in 10 years.
End of the day, it's definitely possible. NTC/NMC have been waived many, many times before. |

Past 5 years shows consistency in his game. Also shows the stupidity in blaming the guy who has carried this team year after year just because of two months where the coach and the defense can't get their poop together.
Go watch every goal. It wasn't biased, you just can't admit you're wrong. You hide behind one stat and refuse to go deeper. You rely on "other people" with their own bias and cherry picked stats. If you can claim that, then so can I. You've spent 10 times the amount of time replying instead of actually watching what's happening. |

I don't think Vegas had that great a day... but the 'Canes sure seemed to upgrade a bunch of stuff... although I was surprised they didn't take a flyer on a goalie. |
