I was joking.
I was going to add Nonis.. but that would have been a bridge too far - BorjeFan4Ever
Thank Christ. We don't agree on some things, but for a moment there I thought your mind had snapped completely. |

I like the extremes here.... we make fun of other fan bases but it's just as bad in here.
Very few middle ground people who may not like all of Dubas moves but feel it takes more than 18 months on the job to really show anything. Especially after cleaning up some of the previous guys mess. - Aaron_85
I was pissed on Saturday and ready to murder them all, but it's a really young core; Nylander's the old man at 23.
This team lacks warriors and I would like to see our core augmented with some veterans who can play and fill roles in the bottom 6 (PK center, etc.), but let's relax and let them learn some hard lessons. |

I think some people are upset his later round picks have amounted to nothing thus far. - Aaron_85
That 2017 draft. Yikes... Good thing Dubas and Keefe were in charge of developing, saved Liljegren at least. |

oh its polarized in here for sure...
but you can't say "cleaning up the other guys mess" without acknowledging the good stuff that Dubas inherited... two way street.
eg. does Dubas get credit for signing Nylander to a good CAP, but not get any grief for the waiting too long to do it (his own admission)?
eg. does Dubas get credit for creating space for Marner - but giving up 1st to do it?
eg does Dubas get credit for seemingly fixing the back-up goalteder situation (with Campbell) - but needed to take about 11-12 months to get it done? |

Has Dubas lost his mind ??
Holy cow man, that Vegus deal is mind boggling to me.
Retained salary and traded an asset for a 5th rnd pck!

Sure I hear lowering expectations is a key to happiness.
Lots of things to be happy about. Who cares if Dufus assembled a deeply flawed team which will get destroyed in the first round even if they make the P.O., with no first round pick to complement in a deep draft? I hear Marlies have so many players other teams are lining up to trade for too. |

Enjoy the last 20 games. See what they can do here.
That’s what this day has given us. No new face coming in to hate or obsess over.

wait... I don't think Hunter would have been a good choice as GM...
but "sucked at drafting"?
explain ... didn't he draft Nylander and Marner? I believe was in-charge when they drafted Matthews - but that was a no-brainer - except for Spatso. - BorjeFan4Ever
Hunter's 2016 draft sucked |

The team is actually better than the one he inherited. McBackup having a career year made Lou/Babs look better than they were. |

I agree. The biggest mistake might have been not moving Barrie but they truly might have needed him with Rielly out maybe longer than expected. They cant just toss Holl, Sandin, Liljegren, Dermott to the top pair for a long stretch and expect good results. |

Honestly, there was nobody I wanted at all this trade deadline, and a RHD with term better than Barrie was a unicorn obviously. |

You are correct. He inherited all the talent - minus making the Kessel deal and getting his goalie + kap.
Yeah he did take too long to fix the back up tender. Like a month too long. But I do try to be reasonable that this is a real league and it doesnt mean a clear upgrade was available when we as fans want it done.
Dubas did wait too long for Nylander hut he admitted it and know what he did?didnt make that mistake with the other guys after him.
Like the guy learns from his mistakes. |

You can't capitulate on the season and that's exactly what trading Barrie for a pick would've done.
This wouldn't have gotten us any further:
Rielly 2nd-round-pick
Muzzin Holl
Sandin Dermott |

Yeah I read you mentioned that earlier so I was including you and a few others who are still wait and see.
To be fair, I dont think theres anything Dubas could have done today To fix this year. Let the players figure some poop out on their own. |

Oh? And who let him walk and took Spark and then Hutchinson? Buck stops somewhere.
Letting Barrie walk for nothing.
Keep trading away picks, for a team not ready to compete. Isn’t it a GM’s job to evaluate where they are now?
Overpaying MM and AM when they haven’t accomplished anything, which was directly responsible for the loss of first rounder to get cap room to sign those 2.
On and on and on. |
