I get the logic but I’m sorry something should have been done to send a msg about what’s going to be acceptable in this organization.

Not moving anyone is basically saying “it’s ok boys we’ll get em’ next time”

- Dozzer

Agree, the GM did the same today as the players did against the Canes on Saturday.

- nothing.

I think the move shows the management team doesn't believe in this group and that the big changes will come in the summer

if they want to play then they can do it with who they have and they aren't going to cripple the forward plan by adding to these bunch of flunkies!

whatever that means.

It means you don't have a clue if they are getting a goalie or even feel like they need to get one. And yes, I am mildly surprised I'm having to do the Hockeybuzz equivalent of hand puppets to break this down for you.

I get it... but sometimes GMs have to send a message... it’s part of the job... not everything is about numbers... you’re still dealing with people
- Dozzer

i guess, but maybe the message he wants to send is he believes in the team.

no matter how dumb or ridiculous you think it is

Nah, at least one NHL roster move, however minor, should have been made

Bag skate.

Take away ice time.

Ban video games on road trips.

Trading a guy right now is just cutting off your nose to spite your face.

biggest move we can do is NOTHING

wait for rielly, ceci and mikky

- Lucas.Neilson

awesome... the view from inside Dubas' a__ is clouding your judgement.

borderline playoff team at best... make no moves for a year to address back up goalie situation

unstable defense since the outset of 19/20... big bets failed (Barrie, Ceci)...

sit on hands.

awesome. participation ribbons for everyone. tell the fans that "we believe in this team - even though they got 8 shots on goal in the entire 3rd period against the Zamboni driver and crapped the bed 2 out of 3 games prior to that"

grabs spreadsheet to find supporting statistics.

Absolutely. And ultimately if he had less cap space WTF was Marner going to do? Sit? Have at 'er bud.

The Leafs brass actually believed they had a legit shot at a cup. They simply misread what they had in these guys. Reading them right is literally their job.

He is players GM. It's a new style yo.

- aminnes

I would have liked to have seen Barrie moved for a return. But I don't know what the Leafs should have done. If Ceci and Rielly and Mikheyev make it back those a decent adds (in the proper roles). I don't know if Mikheyev plays again this year - or how effectively he can be.

You're a bubble team - they shouldn't spend futures to make the team better, but they probably also shouldn't sell and miss the playoffs deliberately to recoup pieces that won't help them until 2024.

Geez... nothing?

I would have at least tried to get a depth veteran d-man as a stop gap measure and extra guy for the playoffs... nothing huge, but just depth... and NO Rosen doesn't count!

Ceci had already been qualified.

Johnson at $3 was a good signing.

What else you got?

Anything relevant to the conversation?

- Atomic Wedgie

johnsson out 6 months ceci sucks and they made the marleau deal in favour of paying these guys especially ceci.

dubas is garbage.

Ceci was already issued a qualifying offer by Ottawa.
- Atomic Wedgie

They didn't even wait until Ceci went Arb. If he get's more than 4.3 they could walk. He never signed a qualifying offer.

Plus why was that the only possible move anyway? They signed him before the hearing so clearly Dubas wanted him. Stop making excuses.

Hey I’m not a fool, I know he is far more qualified than I am but my biggest complaint about Dubas is that it’s too much about the numbers. Hockey players are people, not robots, and sometimes you got to stir up their emotions

keeping Barrie is just plain poor asset management

they aren't resigning him in the summer
he's contributing next to nothing now

Soup wont be back. You seen the footage of him? He can barely hold his stick properly. he is like fipping the puck at the net... couldn't even beat Ayres!
