Don't get Dubas. If you believe in this group don't you add something today?
At least Bogo to replace Marinpoop? He didn't cost anything but money protracted for this year. Tampa and Bruins did well today.
To do nothing is ridiculous. Either you believe in this group and add or you don't and you subtract. - floater_willy
nah... you make word salad.

I wonder if the cult like following of Dubas is rooted in his not being a high level player or anything. He's the closest thing to a regular joe fan a Gm can be. All the fans at home see themselves in him. |

If we make the playoffs and our kids get punched in the face by some knuckle dragger on the Bruins or Lighting and the refs don't call a penalty...going to remember not picking up Bogosian for nothing at the deadline.
Good times.

seriously, you are such an asshat.
obviously he was signed a few days ago... but they held off announcing to now.
why would they do that...
seriously , some people are just f___ donkeys
defend your golden love child Doogie all you want.....
today... Carolina had a great day, Edmonton had a good day and Ottawa had a great day...
and today I don't think Dubas knew it was the trade deadline
pretty much sums it up. - BorjeFan4Ever
To my knowledge it was for tagging rules on the Muzzin contract.

Pretty sure it had something to do with "tagging space" or something for next year. It would have been an issue if the leafs had made a trade that brought in more salary for next year.
But by all means...allow the hate to flow through you.

I really can't remember what the reason was but Dreger said a week ago announcing it was going to be held up, and it wasn't to save as news for the deadline... |

Cause 1. They had the space to take his salary on from Buffalo.
2. He wanted to sign his 1.3 million dollar contract here.
You know you cant force a player to sign somewhere right? |

Maybe the leafs have been inside their own heads with the trade deadline.
With that out of the way they could come out guns a blazing
Jk that’s not happening |

Cause 1. is irrelevant since his Buffalo contract was terminated making him a UFA.
and 2. MacKenzie reported the Leafs had an offer on the table and Bogo was close to signing it but Dubas pulled it after Saturday's debacle.
So, yeah, it was a realistic scenario it seems. |

exactly... so why did they announce it today... clearly it distracted from the acquisition of Calle Rosen.

which is why they needed to be 1-2 mil less.
needed more cap for role players.
oh well. 2022 isn't that far away i guess. - Tumbleweed
We all agree. I just think the only options were to go short term 8 or 9 Milly over 3 years or to lock them up for the extra 2 or 3 years.
He cut things thin and it looks like it failed. However, when he landed Barrie and suddenly he had all the forwards signed and the Defence "improved" things looked pretty good on paper.
By the time the Barrie experiment fails it's too late to deal a young fwd for a top end young d'man. We know that he knows he has to do it now ...it'll happen this summer at some point.
It's been 18 months for Dubby and I'm 50/50 so far. If all he does this summer is bring the band back and trade for Stecher then I'll be at the front of the (frank) dubas line. |

So they can make it official with the NHL....he was never officially signed.
If Muzzin falls down the stairs at 3 PM and breaks his leg then it is a poop show.
Muzz wants that contract legit ASAP and so do the Leafs. |

He made moves prior to the deadline.
And I'm sure he had many conversations today but obviously nothing enticing for him to make any more moves.
It would've been nice if he could have made a nice trade but no point in making one just to say you did it..
Maybe the Leafs will play better now some of the trade bait players dont have to worry about anything and just focus on the game. |

the cult thing has some merit...
I believe its two fold
1) kind of a Trump thing... to afraid or embarrassed to internalize that they voted for him... the electorate continues to double-down with each goofy/illegal thing he does... in Dubas case he's been given a Maserati ... and he's using like a tractor... Dubas seemed to be associated with so many good things early in his tenure - the fans can't get their heads around the idea that there have been quite a few screw ups and indecision since then
2) age-ism thingy... all the boy wonder XBox warriors fancy themselves by proxy thru Dubas... Dubas being the 'phack-you' to the older generations of GMs..
the younger fans see everything defensible via "advanced-stats" and can't wrap their heads around the idea that his judgement just might not be that good

Ya, anything less than nazi-like hate earns you a Dubas-Wife kitchen apron.
Truth be told I blame myself. Karma dictates balance in the universe ..and that includes my sports universe. With the Raps and LFC winning everything the Leafs were bound to fail.
Sorry fellas. |
