The biggest problem is that JGP was getting about 20 minutes / game in Ottawa. I doubt he gets that same opportunity on the Isles. They have better options ahead of him on the depth chart . . . I'd be surprised if he can repeat that same type of performance playing deeper in the line-up on a more defensively responsible team that will afford him even fewer opportunities.

getting rid of a 5M+ CAP hit for Ladd makes the delta very acceptable.
