Forgot Minnesota would still be on the hook for cap recapture penalties and Parise's actual dollars aren't nearly that high since he got a lot if bonus money, so while it's a big cap hit, it's probably not as risky for a team that doesn't want to spend.

Minnesota dumping Parise would be huge. It could give them the ability to go after a big name FA like Hall.

Good for Guerin if he gets it done. And frankly, good for the Islanders. For years that team has had to shed salary and keep payroll low. Good to have owners that will step up like that. God knows we had those days.

He is really poor defensively though. If he isn't producing he isn't worth it. If it consts Riikola and a 4th, yah pull the trigger. But He won't be a big improvement.
