I think most fans have the expectation to try and compete each year but once you're aware thay there isn't an honest shot and contending I think most fans get the idea of unloading and building for the future. That said sadly this is why the Tatar's and Petry's don't move...being competitive next year or something like that

That's the problem right now. I do not believe one bit in that "reset" thing. Maybe a team like the Rangers can do that, because UFA's want to play there.

Trying to rebuild and push for the playoffs at the same time doesn't work. It can't be both in my opinion.

If they keep doing that, they will be a perennial not horrible, but not good enough team.
