All these extra picks are nice, but if you're gonna use this deadline to really bolster the future core, it's the only way to go.... maybe Petry but I doubt it... and to a lesser extent Drouin, Domi and Armia

the problem there if you're Bergevin is that if you start moving good players, you're going to have an issue with Price and Weber this summer where 1 or both might ask to be traded. that is obviously a situation that Bergevin wants to avoid.

Best thing that could happen.... one can't stay healthy, the other cant stay consistent...and at times healthy, both over 30... shouldn't be making decisions based on what they may think

Bergevin is also avoiding winning and contending and just prolonging the inevitable.

We'll find out over the next few months, hopefully starting today but you know he has to be thinking about it, he's most likely receiving solid offers as we speak... will he? I dont think so but I'm hopeful

Hopefully there's an offer that makes him change his mind....therefore changing the direction and trajectory that he's currently sticking with.

Tatar...i imagine hed have to be blown away. this is a guy having a career year with 1 year left on a very affordable deal.

And the part that has me a little hopeful is he has a handful of players he could move that could potentially net a solid return.... maybe he figures he can pull the trigger on 1

If you compare it to Skinner or Hayes, it's pretty good.

That's dumb. Lucic could barely skate when he was 24 and entering the league. Kreider is one of the fastest guys in the entire NHL.
